Amazing warm colors dominated the sky Friday night down near Sells, AZ. This storm had some low level rotation as outflows interacted all while kicking out some sick bolts. Sadly missed some of the bigger, closer ones while pulling up but this scene was what I dream about #azwx

A tornado-warned supercell moves towards Gruver, Texas, back on June 6th. If you look at it long enough, you'll see an "Alligator's Mouth" on the right side seemingly scarfing down hay bales and wind turbines 🤣 Canon USA R5 + RF 10-20mm

This was a particularly fascinating photo of the Dickens tornado. The bottom 1/3 of the condensed tornado appeared to 'hollow out' leaving just the shell of the circulation condensed, surrounded by dust. If you look closely the residual condensation takes on a 'braided' look similar to vinyl tubing.

Man the newest episode of The Pitt…would be hard for me to believe people could watch it and think that we are doing fine with gun laws. Ugh. Insane episode tho. What a great show.

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.

This is the time of year where a good cold snap can freeze the #Chicago river. It takes a sustained blast of sub-freezing air to form photogenic amount of ice, but despite the discomfort it's a spectacular scene to see in person.
A night view of The Chicago River. The water in the foreground is mostly frozen and icy lights reflect off of it. An L train strikes by over the Wells Street bridge in the center of the frame. A bridge hovers over the top of the frame while ice floes jam the Chicago River in the foregroundLarge pieces of ice for an almost graphic, abstract, monochrome background while a single Seagull soars through the frameA wide view of the Chicago River from Salesforce Tower. The Chicago River is littered with thousands of piece of ice from being frozen, then broken by various vessels and current. Two L trains pass over the Lake Street bridge in the middle of the frame.

🦋 Welcome to Buesky! 🦋 This popular guide has been 🚨updated🚨 and the bad link fixed. Direct links to the tools mentioned can be found in the threaded reply. 🦋 Share for all newcomers! 🦋
Tips: moving from Xitter to Bsky
Before you start following people, fill out your profile! Bio, PFP, banner, and post at least 5 to 10 things. Just reuse your top 10 banger tweets—recycling is encouraged! This way, people will know you aren’t a bot, will see what you are about, and might follow back.
Turn off NSFW filters (if you wanna see that) in Settings > Moderation > Content Filtersand Settings > Moderation > Advanced > Bluesky Moderation Service
Find your friends from the hellsite using Sky-Follower-Bridge.dev - Not perfect, but it will find the majority of the people you were following. A previous version of this guide had a similar URL that ended up redirectingto a scam site, so I had to update it. Beware the fake ones that ask for money!
Follow a few feeds related to your interests. Some generic ones I’d recommend:
- Catch Up: kinda like a “best posts of the week”
- OnlyPosts: posts from people you follow without reposts and replies
- Popular With Friends: to discover random things your followers recently liked
Turn on “Show Posts From My Feeds” in Settings > Following Feed Preferences. This will sprinkle random posts from your feeds into your main Home feed.
(alt text is too long, so it will continue in the reply post)
