@munichmakerlab.bsky.social Hi! I’m in the process of moving, and have some spare Prusa MK3+ parts (motors, cables, Y axis guide rails, etc.) Would you all be interested in taking them? If not they‘ll probably go to the Wertstoffhof. Ciao!

Oh my god, if you find one please share. I’ll settle even for Carta, ISO, NSO, stock option, and exercise window

Went through this about 6 months ago and didn’t trust any specific site. Ended up reading multiple reviews for year/model combos to get an average sense of reliability and quality. That being said, we had a firm and small budget, which eliminated a lot of cars to research!

That feeling when according to the syllabus you could have your first solo flight in three more missions, but then the CFI tells you you need 100 landings to do a solo flight, but you’re only at 45 😭

Finally got my background check for flying (Zuverlassungsüberprüfung), so now I just have to wait for the invite to the scheduling platform and my flight book and I can finally start flying in a real plane

Yeah, being able to swap them out mid-flight or at a stopover makes replaceable batteries seem pretty convenient, especially if you use rechargeable ones!

Wow, ok! Thanks for reporting back! I’m pretty much committed at this point, but I’ll probably wait until I get past the radio parts of the program so I can at least know what I’m doing with the radio to justify it a bit 😂

Is it because most items in the kitchen serve a utilitarian purpose? When these things live in a cabinet or drawer, aesthetics don’t matter much. The same can’t be said for almost anywhere else in the house!

Mike Engel @mike-engel.com · 06/03/2024
I don’t think I’ve ever regretted investing in the kitchen. Small things like a timer (with three concurrent timers!) or mise en place dishes, medium things like a carbon steel pan, or large things like an induction cooktop all increase the joy of cooking

Please share if they help! I couldn’t understand anything on my first flight, and if this helps significantly I may also invest

Likewise! I will undoubtedly be going slower since I can only study a few hours a week between work and a kid, but it would be super interesting to see the difference between an AU and EU PPL program!

I got my FBI background check returned early (what a terrible process) and signed my PPL practical training contract after my intro flight last week!

Is an RPL an Australian thing? I just started my PPL in Germany and we don’t have anything like that. We do have an LPPL for lighter aircraft, but nothing that restricts distance

Had an idea for a story where everyone on earth disappears as the new year rolls in and the clock hits midnight. People in the west slowly discover that people are disappearing thanks to the internet, and by the time it hits the US, people are saying goodbye. Only the 3 people on the ISS survive

That’s exactly why I pretty much stopped using it, but am now thinking I might give it a go and see if I can get better at quick manual focusing. Otherwise I’m sticking with the 35mm 1.8 FE, which is also decent though not as lovely in anyway 🥲

I’m pretty sure you’re no actually looking to buy another lens, but if you ever are, I *really* love my Zeiss Loxia 50mm f2. It’s manual focus, and “slow”, but the sharpness and color rendering are really great. It’s also small and pretty light! www.dpreview.com/products/zei...
