I’ll get back in touch after next weekend when I have a better idea what’s survived; there are people who will get much more from the photos than I ever will, and I don’t want for them to get lost to time.

Mike Armstrong @mike-armstrong.com · 25/07/2026

I’m figuring out logistics (the photos are being stored by my stepfather at present but I’m hoping to pick them up next weekend), and I need to check the condition of the prints as they’ve not been kept in optimal conditions.

That’s correct! And I love that you’ve given the magazine a new lease of life. I was a bit too young to appreciate what he was doing when he worked on it, but I know it was a career highlight for him.

My Dad was an official photographer for Blakes Seven and I have a big boxful of behind-the-scenes photos that I don’t know what to do with. Does anyone know a museum or fan publication that would want them? Seems a shame to throw them away.

Holy crap, what happened to @paperlike.bsky.social? I used to love using one on my iPad Pro (2018 model of the Pro and the Paperlike), but I’ve just upgraded my iPad and the drawing experience on the latest version of the Paperlike is absolutely -terrible-. The pencil sticks to the screen.

Hob’s Creek @hobscreek.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Welcome to Hob’s Creek. Have you had your coffee this morning?

A 4-panel comic strip depicting an anthropomorphic fox wearing a long coat and a scarf ordering a coffee from a coffee stand operated by a capybara wearing a t-shirt and baseball cap. “One small low-fat latté, please”. “That’ll be $20”, the capybara replies. As the capybara busies himself making the drink, the fox delivers a wall of text, protesting that $20 is far too expensive and the capybara should be ashamed of himself. He slams $20 on the counter and stalks off with his coffee. The capybara calls out “same time tomorrow, Charley?”; the fox (now off-panel) replies “SURE I GUESS”.

They may have vague ideas about where the series is going when they start, but then studio shakeups come in. Or a third-string character becomes a fan favourite and gets more screen time, derailing original plans.

Mike Armstrong @mike-armstrong.com · 28/12/2025

It amazes me that people don’t realise the writers/creators of [insert favourite long-running series du jour] are MAKING STUFF UP AS THEY GO ALONG. All these “hints” dropped eight years ago as to the payoff? TOTAL COINCIDENCE. Happy accidents played of as intention.
