Ron was unsure of the snow this morning. He reminded me of Bambi.

I won’t be at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social myself this year (boo!) but @wipcomics.bsky.social will! They have stock of this year’s anthology (which is incredible BTW) as well as BIGGER and SPAN. Please pay them a visit at F11 in the Bubbleboy Hall and buy ALL THE BOOKS.

Thank you! The real-life Ron (cat tax photo below) is a constant source of inspiration. I thought it only right that he got a month dedicated to him.

Want to see a copy of SPAN or BIGGER before you buy? If you’re in London you can check out @goshcomics.bsky.social, or if you’re in Nottingham you can visit @pagefortyfive.bsky.social! Both of these fine establishments have my work in stock!

Hurrah! I’ll be tabling at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social this November. I’ll have copies of all my comics, as well as some new stuff just for the festival. Hope to see you there!

My latest mini-comic is now available on my shop (mike-armstrong.com/shop); a short, silent story about RELATIONSHIPS. Pick up a copy for less than a cup of coffee!

If you see this, post something fantasy/DnD from your portfolio! I guess I can share the full thing now, as the anthology has been in the wild for over a year. This is my piece from “Change”, the 2023 @wipcomics.bsky.social anthology. Tried to push texture/detail with this one. Learned a lot.

A comic page showing a knight riding through a medieval fantasy village, arriving at a mountain cave. They dismount and enter the cave.

The knight sees a huge pile of treasure in the middle of the hollow mountain. A dragon bursts out of the treasure and launches itself at the knight.

The knight calls out to the dragon as it tries to attack them. The knight was sent by the dragon’s parents: the parents are sick of the dragon’s hoard cluttering up their basement, and want him to sort it out. The knight is there to help.

The knight - Sir Merry of the Knights Condeau - holds up a piece of armour, asking if it sparks joy.

I normally wouldn’t… but this was too good an opportunity. When (repeatedly) asked what they should work on next, my response was: SHUTTING DOWN.

Working on my entry for this year’s Manga Jiman contest… no spoilers here, won’t be posting any more of this until the contest is over, but I am alive! And drawing!

I'm sorry, Bluesky. I've neglected you. But not today! Today I post some new artwork! This is Rose and Bee again, from the reboot of my LORE LIBRARY series that I'll be working on before the year is out. I hope.

Hey Bluesky #comics folks: I’d really love to illustrate some stuff for publication in kids’ comics (preferably in the UK!). Anyone know who I should be approaching? (More stuff at mike-armstrong.com/portfolio)
