Still no bites on this. All types of characters are welcome: furry, human, feral, insect, machine, etc. My usual digital painting price is $100 so this is a 25% discount!

I can't even get away from the turducken here. Amazing.

I'm poking through old files and may just repost my old AskYST stuff over here for kicks and giggles. So, uh... sorry about that.

Life has been a little too real this summer. Family health scares and passings, navigating care for my senior dog, and the seasonal ramp up at work. But I'm (slowly) breaking through the rust on the art side and getting lots of sunlight. Some of the old energy and motivation is coming back.

It's not even the individual that frustrates me so much, but the mentality.

Suzaku @midnightparty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Why is there so much insistence on "I made this"? Why is there resistance to disclosing, up front, "I generated this." Something to consider.

Oh. Well, meeting cancelled. Last thought for the moment, is the increasing number of people posting generated images with the claim "I made this" and the witch hunt against artists who actually DID make something with their own hands. Really sucks that we're at this point.

Suzaku @midnightparty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

etc these are technical skills that are repeatable and taught and learned every day. As a human, you have the capability to learn these things and apply them. So instead of throwing those darts, you can go right to the pain point and say "ok yes, a wrist doesn't bend that way, I know exactly

They've got a post floating around about "I put this photo in the thing and told it to make anime, and I fiddled it a bunch, and I still can't get it right." This sounds a lot like that anecdote which is why I brought it up. I don't know who needs to hear it, but that's something a model

Suzaku @midnightparty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Is it true? Don't know. I have friends who currently or have previously worked for major studios in animation and gaming. The conditions are not friendly, and this account is not unbelievable in context of their experiences. Either way, going back to the prompt defender mentioned above.

100

Suzaku @midnightparty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

There's an old anonymous anecdote about a creative studio that hired prompters to make "art", only to find out the long and hard way that these guys lack the fundamental skills to see what's wrong and the knowledge of how to fix it.

100

Suzaku @midnightparty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Throw in another dude with the usual talking points. "That's not how they're trained" with a side of the "you don't get to gatekeep art, I fed this picture into a model and told it to make anime with my own two hands." I work in the software side of tech lol.

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at the gen aye eye usage in this fandom. There's a Seiji that looks like Carey Elwes as Robin of Locksley, and a Kayura whose dress becomes transparent and gets sucked into her bits as the panels progress.

Hey kids, you wanna see a body? My Wacom grip pen gave up the ghost over the weekend. Currently mashing F5 on my inbox looking for the replacement shipping notification.

A Wacom grip pen is in several parts after falling to pieces. The internal circuit board is exposed, and several small metal pieces that controlled a side button on the pen body, which have broken off.
