I'm estimating, of course, but it was A LOT. Most were in leafy trees, out of direct sight. It felt like the birds WERE the leaves. I didn't get pics because the folks I was with were hustling to get FOOD.

Everything was bright pink. Just before sunup, and just for a couple of minutes. I think clouds on the horizon acted as a lens to distribute the sun's color.

Maybe it was fewer than 5000, but is sounded like more! 🤣 We were pulling off the interstate to get a bite to eat. At first I thought something was wrong with the car, before we turned off the engine and I realized all the racket was bird noise.

I wish I could share this rain with you. Even though this is normally our dry season, and we have had no hurricanes so far this year, we've still had a lot of rain this week and more predicted for next. Right now I need rain boots to load my backyard bird feeders.
