Unsurprisingly an amazing talk from @nicoledenisco.bsky.social on urobiomics 🦠🧬 rUTIs go beyond UPEC (~50% polymicrobial!), with the urobiome shaping disease, from protective Lactobacillus to distinct metabolomic signatures predicting relapse!!!

In the manuscript we quantified the percentage of bacterial filamentation 📏 🦠 and bacterial lengths of pathogenic vs comensal E. coli strains infecting the bladder organoids. I used #MicrobeJ microbej.com for the analysis in ImageJ.

Still fascinated with these SEM images. The polymer treatment caused enlarged round “bacterial cells” 🫧 or several bacterial cells merged as a chimera “dead” zombie🧟‍♀️ Q: Do you know of any know antibiotic to cause a similar effect?
