Bike bus kids had someone yell, “Take them to the park!” A few blocks later, a person drove around parked carline cars and across a median to almost hit more kids. The kids don’t understand why “grown ups” bully children from inside their cars. #bikebus

The problem is that farmers and ranchers have an extremely lucrative, free resource from the government (basically free water to irrigate low-value and feed crops) and there is precisely zero political will to take that away from them and so instead we're going to do an ecological disaster.

Very similar to fixing health insurance in this country. Lots of good ideas and examples out there! However: - Billions in advertising/lobbying efforts maintain the status quo. - People don't know a better way is possible. - Changing things = "undeserving others" might get good things.

White supremacy explains many apparent contradictions. Conservative calls for free speech were always about freedom to use slurs without sanction. Calls for small government were always about denying Black folks rights and state protections. This is conservatives achieving their goals.

This is a very DC story. The comms person for organization that created Project 2025, and wife of a lead architect of Project 2025, is then brought out that telling female summer interns they have lower IQs on average is just statistics! This just proves that Antoni is qualified to lead BLS!
In a statement, Mary Vought, Heritage’s vice president of strategic communications, said Antoni was presenting to interns on the subject of economic freedom when a participant posed a question on the workforce. She said Antoni cited what is commonly referred to as the “greater male variability hypothesis” among other statistics to answer the question.

“A statistician cited statistics when asked — that’s not a story or controversial. As BLS commissioner, Dr. Antoni will rely on objective data to restore integrity, accountability and America’s trust in the agency,” Vought said. “I’m proud to call him a colleague and a friend.”

Across the board, kids are less healthy than they used to be here and less healthy than peers worldwide.

Question: does it make America great again to deport a guy who’s willing to run into the ocean where a shark is prowling to save a child and chase away the shark?
Days before his arrest, on June 11, 9-year-old Leah Lendel was snorkeling in Boca Grande when she was attacked by a shark. She nearly lost her hand, but it was successfully reattached after quick actions from
bystanders and an airlift to a Tampa hospital.
Her family said in a statement at the time that nearby construction workers helped them make a tourniquet to stop the blood loss and dial 911. One of the men who helped, Raynel Lugo, told Fox 4 News that Alvarez ran into the water to try and scare away the shark and bring Leah's sister to shore. "He's a real decent guy, a family guy," he told the station.
