It’s a fixed term 5 year post paid for by the University to replace me as I am bought out for the grant period. It’s not paid for out of the grant. I and my head of department would have liked a permanent rather than fixed-term post, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible.

My worry would be that it’s not systematic enough – in a literal sense- because to understand aura means reading Benjamin, and the many glosses, a lot more closely and seeing the concept in historical context. I liked your brief comment in Computational formalism, on ML authentication and aura.

I’m excited to announce that I have been awarded one of these grants for Extractive Seeing - my project on AI assisted mobile phone photography. The project will last 5 years and employ 3 postdoctoral researchers and create 3 PhD scholarships!
