Hey #BookSky, here’s what I read in January. (Heavy on #TournamentOfBooks selections.) The Wedding People was my favorite. Orbital felt like meditation. World of Wonders was full of delightful metaphors.

Amen to this whole thread. And if you hear anyone complaining about this delaying the next Wingspan expansion, tell them they now owe a $50 donation to their local hospice organization for being an asshole. Findpan doesn't have a thing to do with the delay but my dad's cancer sure as hell does.

Thinking a lot about enclaves ("safe spaces") today and reading an article from Karma R. Cha ́vez. As we think about social media, "echo chambers," and activist goals, this seems important.

In the case of coalition-building, these *meaning-making processes* serve as the *rationale to build bridges with allies.* Second, activists use enclaves as the sites to *invent rhetorical strategies to publicly challenge oppressive rhetoric* or to create new imaginaries for the groups and issues they represent and desire to bring into coalition. It is the former function I discuss here."
