My Lib Dem feed is a great way of churning up transphobes into my timeline as they attack us for our support for lgbt people. Then you click on their profiles and of course it’s all right-wing racist, pro-Trump, pro-AfD, pro-theocracy, anti-EU slop. Then they still claim to be former Labour etc

The second attack in two weeks on an LGBT+ bookshop in Glasgow. STV posted this story on Facebook and there is an endless stream of comments underneath suggesting the answer is for them to stop using the word "queer", stop supporting trans rights, and stop being so visible. Mainstreamed hate.

The NHS diagnosed my mum with haemorrhoids and ‘treated’ her for 11 months (telling her to take paracetamol) when what she actually had was stage 3 cancer. She was hospitalised in April 2023 and died 2 months later, aged 69. I’m never going to get any justice for her. I’m so sorry, mum.

oh I'll see if I can find it, it's brilliant - - here, this is a variant of it, at least!

The Lord's Prayer in Old English (ca 1000), Middle English (ca 1400), early Modern English (ie, Elizabethan era, ca 1600), and modern contemporary English. You can read back to 1400 pretty easily but the break between Middle and Old English is where you can see the Normans coming through like a freight train. I might transcribe it all later but not right now.

I want to remind people that Britain is an island and the best way to ensure it can be defended is through a large and capable navy and air force, not through a massive conscripted/reservist army. But politicians would rather do literally anything else instead of investing in military capability.

I strongly oppose cutting fuel duty. This amounts to an un affordable and regressive taxpayer subsidy for drivers that will encourage fuel use and hasten climate change and the resulting damage to our country. I will not support such an embarrassing policy for the sake of a cheap headline.
