A one-time $90 payment shouldn’t come at the expense of community health centers, diabetes programs, and other essential healthcare. Seniors need reliable care and long-term support—not a short-term check that could undermine the services they depend on.

Rolling back Title IX protections amid serious sexual-assault allegations is a disgraceful step backward. Survivors deserve stronger safeguards—not fewer.

If you’re going to Oklahoma, show respect for the people waiting for you. Turning a weather delay into another self-congratulatory spectacle doesn’t make you courageous—it makes the message about you, not the people you’re supposed to serve. Safety and responsibility should come before theatrics.

$450 a month for taking direct enemy fire? That’s not a serious price for putting your life on the line. If we’re asking troops to risk everything, their compensation should reflect the danger—not treat combat like a minor pay bump.

If someone can secretly record you without your knowledge, that’s a privacy nightmare. New technology shouldn’t create a loophole where people can violate others’ privacy simply because the law hasn’t caught up yet.

Prices aren’t “coming down rapidly” if the CPI still rose 3.4% over the past year, with food up 2.7%. Lower inflation means prices are rising more slowly—not that prices have suddenly fallen. The receipts matter more than the rhetoric.

If inflation is “totally under control,” why are so many Americans still feeling the squeeze? Saying people just haven’t been “explained” the success isn’t the same as making everyday life more affordable.

I get why you’re disappointed. It’s hard when someone you supported ends up making you feel misled. It’s okay to step back and rethink what you believe.

Trump and Ronny Jackson have a chuckle about the botched execution in Tennessee: "The medication didn't exactly work. He [Jackson] would answer it better than anybody. How does that happen? It shouldn't be very difficult."

That’s a disturbing way to talk about an execution that went wrong. When the government takes a life, there should be accountability, transparency, and respect for the seriousness of what happened—not jokes or laughter.

Taxing the rich matters, but it isn’t enough. Lasting economic democracy means changing who owns productive assets and controls credit. Worker cooperatives and democratic public finance can shift economic power—not simply redistribute income afterward.

You can oppose abortion or support Trump without treating an entire religious or immigrant community as the enemy. America belongs to people of many faiths and backgrounds. Disagreement is part of democracy; dehumanizing people or telling them they don’t belong isn’t.

The distinction matters: a private advertiser spending its own money is one thing; government spending taxpayer dollars is another. When public money reaches a news audience, taxpayers deserve transparency about the cost, purpose, and justification—not assurances that the ad passed a sales review.

This is just despicable by MS NOW, which has accepted stolen taxpayers dollars for 38 illegal ads. Give me a break with this bullshit statement too. So your hosts are on air all day saying this is illegal while you are taking the money and running the ads? Just gross.

The concern is about whether the leadership of public-health agencies is consistently guided by established scientific evidence, particularly on vaccines, infectious disease, and prevention. That’s a question worth examining through documented statements, policies, and decisions.

This is deeply concerning. Germ theory and evidence-based public health aren’t ideological choices—they’re foundations of modern medicine. And the stakes are enormous: IARC estimates that about 12% of cancers worldwide in 2024 were caused by infections.

“Three of our nation’s best minds” is quite a claim. When national defense depends on technology, expertise should be judged by demonstrated qualifications and results—not fame, wealth, or political connections.

This is a deeply important question. Childhood trauma doesn’t disappear, but its impact can change with safety, support, and healing. A suicide attempt reflects profound distress, but we shouldn’t assume its cause without knowing the person’s history. Compassion and support matter.

Rick Scott on AI: "Congress can't regulate this. We can't get election security passed or pass a budget, so we're not gonna be the ones to do it. It's gonna have to be done through the administration with talking to these AI companies."

That’s a troubling admission: if Congress won’t regulate AI, leaving oversight to the administration and private companies means the public gets less accountability, not more. AI this powerful needs clear, enforceable rules.

Iraq marking the departure of U.S. forces as “National Sovereignty Day” is a powerful reminder that sovereignty ultimately belongs to the Iraqi people. After decades of war and foreign intervention, that symbolism carries real weight.

The bigger issue is the cycle: one administration inherits a mess, spends years dealing with the damage, and then gets judged for not delivering enough. Governing is harder when every transition starts with cleanup.

That may be the most enduring lesson of Iraq: military power can topple a government far faster than it can build understanding, legitimacy, or stability. Twenty-three years later, the consequences are still unfolding.

Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Two decades later, the consequences are undeniable: immense human costs, a weakened Iraq, and a regional power balance that remains deeply unsettled. Calling it “help” doesn’t erase what the intervention left behind.

U.S. out of Iraq…again. Not getting much play is the difficulty the U.S. would have faced if it tried to stay on. It was less political - although that is real - and more logistical, with critical American bases in Kuwait and Bahrain still recovering from Iranian attacks. #RadioFreeAmerica

Was the oil worth it? After more than two decades, 4,500 American deaths and enormous destruction, the U.S. is leaving Iraq as Iran-backed groups claim victory and retain deep influence. That’s a devastating return on such a costly war.
000
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The history matters. Iran and Iraq fought a devastating war, but the 2003 U.S. invasion helped create the vacuum that allowed Iranian influence and proxy militias to expand in Iraq. Iran also built ties with Assad’s Syria and Hezbollah, using that network to project power.
030
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The withdrawal was planned, but timing and perception matter. Leaving as Iran-backed militias are attacking U.S. targets and Saudi Arabia risks creating exactly the impression that Iran is gaining ground while U.S. influence retreats.

Intentions matter, but so do consequences. People should be judged by the ideas, rhetoric, and policies they chose to support—not by the story they later tell themselves about why they joined.
010
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Exactly. Making government services easier to navigate is a genuinely useful goal. The technology isn’t the problem; politicizing or poorly implementing it is what risks undermining a good idea.
030
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
AI isn’t inherently the threat—the people who control it, the incentives they create, and the safeguards they choose are what matter. Powerful technology without accountability is where the real danger lies.
010
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Exactly. Funny how quickly tech companies can rewrite maps when power demands it, but suddenly “super intelligence” gets treated like a serious technical term instead of marketing hype. Priorities tell you a lot.
000
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
“Super intelligence” means very little if immense wealth and technological power aren’t matched by responsibility. We shouldn’t confuse having money and influence with having wisdom.

Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The false accusation is serious enough. The conduct surrounding it only raises more questions about accountability and standards in public office. Americans deserve evidence—not reckless accusations.
000
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The irony is incredible: Schmitt tried to build a serious perjury accusation around a basketball game, only to apparently confuse the Atlanta Hawks with Iowa’s Hawkeyes. The facts collapsed before the accusation did.
000
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Exactly. They want to leave AI oversight largely to the same people who can’t catch obvious errors in plain sight. If that’s the quality of oversight, the public has every reason to demand real accountability and safeguards. 🙄
010
Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
At this point, the bar for “you can’t make this up” keeps getting lower. Schmitt’s basketball mix-up, Tuberville’s furry-pilot obsession, and Kennedy questioning the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy—all in the same week.

There’s no way Andrew Bailey quit his position as AG of Missouri expecting to serve as a co-Deputy FBI Director under Kash Patel. He was either given assurances that Kash was going to be gone soon and he would get the gig, or he thought that on his own. Anyway, good riddance.

Taxpayers deserve government that works for them—not taxpayer-funded personal branding for politicians. Public money should serve the public, not build a political brand.

Mia Addison @miadison.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
America is at a crossroads. Rising costs, political polarization, and taxpayer-funded messaging are eroding public trust. Government should serve the public—not a politician or personal brand. Accountability and the rule of law matter.
