I was walking my 6 mo old baby in a stroller once when a motorcyclist came by and revved extremely loudly right in front of us. Made my baby cry. I absolutely believe they are sadists--why else would a grown adult man do that to a baby.

Okay. So here's what I know - I lost my day job. - I hated my day job. - I liked having a lot of money and health insurance. - But a lot of money never made me happier, I just owned more stuff. - I do still need health insurance. - I'm really fucking good at lettering comic books.

Also, artists, if a character isn't mentioned in the panel description, but they have a LARGE amount of dialogue in the panel, you should put them in the panel. Too many artists are only reading the panel descriptions and not the dialogue and it shows.

#DVPit changed the trajectory of my entire career back on Twitter in 2020, where I pitched THE GHOSTKEEPER for the first time and found my agent through the event. It gave me a tangible deadline to work toward with putting together sample art and comic pages. I extremely recommend participating!

Lovely coders and/or graphic designers, I have some projects for my twitch channel redesign in the works and want to see if anyone is interested in working with me. Paid and credited, of course. You can drop your vgen or other platform as long as it accepts paypal. #twitch #hiring

I was doing my usual 7mi forest trail run on Sunday when I spotted this for the first time (no idea how long it had been there??) I'd been finding the little leaf faces for years, but this was a new one. Magical forest artist, I see you and I'm a big fan of your work.

A face has been made out of an old stump by someone drawing pupils onto two rocks and wedging them into "sockets" in the rotting wood. Some sticks below look like a mouth, and the greenery growing out the top looks like crazy hair.

A little face has been cut into a brown leaf. Complete with eyes, eyebrows, a smiling mouth, and a twig sticking out of the nose hole (possibly holding it upright against a stump?)

I actually did that with my last one! And to "break it in" I had my niblings draw something on the first few pages. 😊

With many artists trying to get prepped for LBX, I wanted to share this video I have seen on TikTok. Apparently Vista Prints is running materials provided by artists through AI to "enhance" or make "corrections" on art without the artists consent. www.tiktok.com/@kablooeys.k...

What a disaster this has been. There was so much I wanted to say. First off, that elbow wasn’t the only indicator. There were other parts of the drawing that had been edited, but I only had time to ad...

I have separated the art from the artist and am now whipping the art to stiff peaks, after which I will gently fold it into the artist before baking at 350 til golden and puffed

One of my personal complaints is that they make so many pretty journal covers now, but sketchbooks covers are still mostly dull. I don't want lined paper, but I do want sparkly embellishments. Is that too much to ask?

Awwww, yeah our receptionist brought toys for my kiddo, and lots of coworkers held her or played with her. The people were great! But the system failed us. We all deserved better.

I was "lucky" in that my job let me bring my baby to work with me. I operated industrial equipment while babywearing, and I walked home with her because I had to go back to work before I was medically cleared to drive post-c-section. Just give people free goddamn childcare, jesus

PORTFOLIO SHARE!: TTRPG projects. I'm looking for artists that can adapt to an artstyle that is custom made for projects. (regarding multiple projects). I've attached the styles I'm looking for! You don't need to demonstrate these exact styles, just a versatility that shows you can.

Oh nooooo that would be a deal breaker for me too. I had pages, so it was just a matter of re-scaling each page down to (I think) 800x1200, which really wasn't too bad.

Melissa @mhudson-illustration.com · 27/09/2026

Yeah that is true in my experience, too. The file dimensions are unique. I just created an action in Photoshop that converts and resaves my pages to the comicfury dimensions, it's a little annoying but not a deal breaker for me.

Hey comics! For those of yall still looking for homes after leaving Tapas, DO NOT go to GlobalComix. They are super pro GenAI, highly recommend staying away! They do not have the best track record of how they treat creators as well. Here’s some alternatives:
