Mark Carney has simply been a follower, and a reluctant one at that. He's aware of Canadian sentiment at the moment and has little choice but to follow it even if his instincts are saying otherwise. His political survival depends on the show of Canadianness. His self preservation skills are solid.

My dream is that we build East-West high speed electric rail with side by side massive renewable infrastructure linking the country. Add in North-South lines at logical points, more renewable infrastructure, and we move Canada toward energy independence, creating more jobs than O&G ever could.

It is politics by and for the denizens of Twitter, where real life is increasingly warped by technology.
Normalizing this generative advertising will bring us to some very unpleasant places. What’s to stop the Liberal party from generating an ad of Pierre Poilievre donning a Make America Great Again hat? The Conservatives could fire back an ad of Mark Carney’s face slowly morphing into Justin Trudeau’s. The Green Party could jump into the fray with a video showing the other leaders having their pockets stuffed with cash from shadowy oil executives. It will invite the question: Are any political ads real anymore?
Using AI to create an authentic-looking scene — one we must constant remind ourselves isn’t real — abrogates the need for our politicians to actually argue and convince people of their position. It pushes us into a world where politics becomes a test of who can create the most compelling visual fiction.

Any time. Another thing people should know, Crown takes a lot of heat for plea deals. Much of that is due to the fact that Crown is under funded compared to police. To add insult to that particular injury, there are many cases that are plead down to atone for cop screw ups.

They will cover for each other, no questions asked. And for the few that don't run cover, they're run out of their forces. Another thing to note, give a cop a tool and they'll find a way to abuse it. They will lie, misdirect, obfuscate, and bully when called out on that misuse.

I work for Courts (in tech) and one thing you learn is that cops cannot be trusted. As a whole, you just can't tell by looking at them which are the good ones and which the bad. And with their circle the wagons mentality, assume all of them are bad.
