happy (early) birthday metaphor refantazio #metaphorrefantazio

a lineless drawing of will/the elda boy from metaphor refantazio, inspired by the cover of the goblin emperor by katherine addison. will wears the crown of euchronia, out of which grows the grand trad cathedral. it is surrounded by clouds, and the charadius and the prince's gauntlet runner fly upwards in front of it. at the top of the painting is the face of the king, and at the bottom next to will is a line of various human enemies from the game. will looks off to the side in thought.

With the sole exception of Whispangle, every time they do a Sonic character as DLC it's a variant of a main character

Supper Mario Broth @mariobrothblog.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

In the Mario Teaches Typing games, Mario never criticizes the player for underperforming and tries to be understanding and supportive. According to Charles Martinet, that was his initiative, as he felt being negative would go against the core principles of Mario's character.

In the Mario Teaches Typing games, even if the player does badly or underperforms compared to previous attempts, Mario will try to be understanding instead of critical:
Uh-oh, that wasn't quite as fast as the last time.
Hmm, are your fingers getting tired? Mine would be by now... if I had any. (laughs)
Charles Martinet, speaking at TooManyGames Convention 2021:
I got this marvelous opportunity to do Mario Teaches Typing. And when I got the script and I'm in the studio - I'm reading the script for the first time, there were things like "You failed!"
"That wasn't very good." "That was much worse... that was bad."
And I was reading that and I said, "Do you mind if I just, like, play with these words a little bit and just change them around?" because, you know, I never say "no" and I never say anything negative as Mario... and the producer graciously said "Sure, go for it!"
And so it became "Oh, that was good, but I know you can do even better!" "Oh, nice one but let's try again!" so it was always uplifting and always trying to be positive. And I think that that is the essence of the character to me - it's that love and that joy.

Marisa from street fighter 6 embracing a very confused and bewildered Leo from the old Capcom classic Red Earth confusing him for her pet lion Lucius

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.

Yeah but I feel like if they were interested in doing another game like this they would've done one for Xenoblade or something instead of just rotating between Zelda and FE's newest releases

I unironically believe the endgoal to is to remake both of them and then do a third Hero of Time game in that style The Zelda movie is supposed to be the start of a trilogy right? I can see these games releasing around the same time as each part of that

Blaze @mhblaze.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I mean there's probably a reason why they only seem interested in making games like Age of Calamity these days as opposed to something like the original

The big rumor right now is that they got Cole Howard to voice him here, and he voiced Mega Man in Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP when he was just a kid
