One of my favorite tarantula species--phormictopus auratus--right after a molt. She's a sassy lady, always investigating and making a mess, but she's absolutely gorgeous!

I just built out and stocked a new rolling workspace/water dish kiosk for my spiders. Check this out! (The bottom drawer, not shown here, has all the photography equipment and extra lights.)

Seriously! I never suspected because I got the spider from somebody very experienced. A tiny part of me thinks I should mention it and throw a couple more bucks his way, but I know he'd never take it. Karmically it balances the female regalis sling I bought ages ago that turned out to be a male.

So I bought a male poecilotheria striata three years ago. I've been waiting for him to mature and not really paying attention too hard other than "Is he eating and healthy". He molted today and after seeing his distinctly FEMALE ventral side, I pulled his molt and OMG I have a girl! #tarantula
