I turned on the heat in my bathroom tonight (just a little) for the first time in maybe six months. This time last year I had the heat up AND a few windows open a bit because Minou-cat was dying and deserved all of the sniffs and sounds he wanted.

I want to get one of those multi-compartment Korean cafeteria trays I keep seeing on Facebook reels being loaded up with small amounts of 8-10 different dishes. I love eating a wide variety of things, but hate when they just melt into each other.

Depending on who’s right, it may or may not rain the rest of the week. I have around a week left of bike locker rental and am thinking of extending it. It’s a three-month minimum at $30 + tax and I won’t use all of it, but that’s a little less than three cab rides would cost.

The thing I love best about this time of year is that the end of motorcycle season is around the corner. It’s 17°C out and I have all the windows open. Some guy kept revving his engine loudly at the intersection and sped off and spooked the cats.

I don’t drive so rely on delivery services for most groceries. The Walmart subscription service offers great deals, but is otherwise completely f-cked up. You can “skip” deliveries, but they’ll still come in — and on earlier than scheduled dates. I have enough TP for the next month.

This has become comfort food. Tofu scramble with onions, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, red bell pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, tamari, some chipotle seasoning, nooch, black salt, pepper. I usually add potatoes or tomatoes, but forgot. So delicious!

I stretched out on my bed after doing some housework, planning to get back up to put some clothes away and to start dinner. Muriel-cat climbed on top of me and fell asleep. Twenty minutes later, I’m still stuck. Send help!

I ordered some groceries for delivery. Tofu was on sale — a really good sale! — so I bought four blocks of it. My only regret right now is that I didn’t get more. Some will go into a bibimbap, some into a scramble. Then there’s the possibility of some sort of seitan-tofu holiday roast.

The Petunia and the Vipers show this evening was so much fun! The band was tight and talented. I hadn’t seen Petunia perform in decades, so that was kind of neat. He sounds like a young Willie Nelson crossed with Jim Reeves, mebbe? A touch of Jimmie Rodgers for the music?

When I got home, Muriel-cat met me at the door as I brought in my bike. I heard a smoke alarm emitting spaced shrieks of distress. I am short, my ceilings are high, my bad knee has been giving out. I shooed the cats away, grabbed a broom, climbed on a shaky two-stepper. I’m now enjoying a martini.

I biked to work only to have to turn around to go get my forgotten bike locker access card. (I should have stayed put.) Back to the office, boring day of repetitive tasks — then the sky darkened. Left a half hour earlier than usual and only felt a slight sprinkle and got a glimpse of this.
