Someone in this convo is definitely looking silly, I’ll give you that.

It’s only entrapment if the cops convince you to commit a crime you wouldn’t otherwise commit. Facilitating every step of a crime that couldn’t possibly happen otherwise because the perps can barely tie their own shoes: not seen as entrapment.

H20 brought the house down every show by closing with Like a Prayer, so probably better to not guess what hypothetical bands like or don’t like, hypothetically.

Detailed And Thorough Debunking Of Bloomberg's Sketchy Story About Supply Chain Hack

Trump tucking with the SALT deduction was all it took to get OC to go blue for the first time since FDR. Now Irvine sees protest signs in Korean with the phrase “Permament Dismemberment” on them from a group of (formerly) single issue voters that only voted GOP in the first place because of taxes.

Maybe in a “it a tree falls in a forest” sense. But if the “recording” requires technology not currently invented (or even thought possible) to access, then getting lost in the details isn’t productive.

I can still hear my coworker complaining about his $2,100 rent in 1999 on a place this size on like 42 and Highland where you could see the ocean from his front window. Although 26 years ago maybe that was the equivalent of $2m.

Isn’t Paisley Park super insane about controlling and protecting Prince’s catalog and legacy? Seems they would actually know how the song was meant to be finished. Or is this someone else less concerned with legacy?

Yeah, but elections don't care about how the economy *actually* is. Voters will reject their literal person life experience over what everyone "knows". See: 2024.

Wonder if they are counting the 60? But even if they aren’t, a significant portion of LA County and OC commutes through the city. Somehow the flow of traffic is to/from every possible direction at the same time for both the morning and evening.

“Correct”? You mean the name chosen by whatever country you happen to be in? Which of the names are “correct” for the Kashmir region? Surely ether India or Pakistan chose the “incorrect” name, and you’ll more than willing to call out Google’s appeasement on that choice.

It's not a lie, but as someone who has been in the room for more than a few startup elevator pitches, it's just about the most surefire way to glaze over the eyes of the audience listening to the pitch.

The problem with this is that there if effectively an inverse relationship between how serious someone is about horses and how worked up about culling feral herds they will be. Better to keep this firmly normie-centric.

You can measure the revenue of what Apple product that tech pundits considerd useless in the millions of dollars per hour. Everything from the Apple Watch to the iPod was declared a flop by people who hadn’t used them yet.

The final "and X as Y" billing is always the top of the "and" cast hierarchy, all of which are miles and miles above any "introducing X as Y" like the dog. Dean Martin's agent fought hard for that billing.

Well, to be fair, unlike "I love L.A.", it's a song about actually loving LA instead of a satirical song along the lines of: "We're a bunch of dipshits that get excited about mediocre streets because our weather is good...."

Next you get a FedEx Ground delivery, ask the driver what company he works for. Amazon is far from alone in doing this.

Nick Messick @messick.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
It’s not even an “innovation”. It’s easier to list out what delivery services DON’T use subcontractors, because it’s basically just the USPS, UPS, and some parts of FedEx.

Because of how this stuff actually works, and not how it works in the minds of the terminally online, there was no recourse. That dude in Pittsburgh or whatever answered to no one. The DNC and Hillary campaign had no more control or influence than some rando off the street. Maybe less.

Nick Messick @messick.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
We'd reach out to these people, and the response we'd get would be something the along the lines of: "We've been doing this a long time, you are new and don't know what you are doing, we do." To people who worked for Hillary Clinton, the least "new" person in politics possible.

Nick Messick @messick.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
Anyone who complains about the "DNC" doing anything should be forced to work a campaign for an election. I did some engineering work for a joint DNC/Hillary thing for the 2016 cycle, and we couldn't even reliably get Penn Dem precinct captains to return our calls, let alone get them to do anything.

Nick Messick @messick.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
The real way to shut these people up is for the power companies to start charging residential producers when net demand goes negative. Then getting paid wholesale for electricity that is (metaphorically) thrown into the trash won't seem so bad after all.

And if this "egg selling" is happening in California, you can go to this website to see how many eggs the store is already just throwing into the trash (curtailment) because that "reason" for the extra eggs even applies to the grocery store itself: www.caiso.com/todays-outlook

To extend the metaphor further: The reason you have extra eggs this time applies to everyone else with chickens. So if you are trying to sell your eggs to the store, you won't even get into the parking lot because everyone else in town is also trying to sell their extra eggs at the same time.

It's actually "rigged" in the sense the horses have mandatory vet checks and rest periods, where the humans are free to choose to get as close to death as they are able. Although, the horse owners are not going to push their animals anywhere close to what the runners are willing to do to themselves

Even then, she would probably destroy me in anything less than 50 miles. But since I don't want that 5 figures to be become 6 or more figures, she gets to live a life of leisure and I get to spend all my time being sore lol.

I'm 5 figures and 7 months into trying to solve an injury my OTTB mare suffered while I was watching her lope on flat and (relatively) soft ground. And I spend more hours a week than I'd like to be admit pushing my body to (barely) just this side of not constantly shitting my self on the trail.
