Very very upset at the University of Cambridge higher ups. I don’t think their remaining in situ given this week - in court and with Arday - is remotely tenable.

Everyone can see this is disastrous, but no one is screaming loudly enough. Years of policy drift have hollowed out the funding model, and now direct cuts are accelerating the damage. But hey, there’s still demand for university merch on Oxford Street!

On average, women's pensions are 23% lower than men's in the OECD. This gap reflects both past gender inequalities in the labour market - gender gaps in career length, hours worked and hourly wages - and redistributive elements in the pension system that can compensate for those. 4/4
In the OECD on average, the gender pension gap declined by about 5 percentage points between 2007 and 2024.
The gap remains high in Japan, the Benelux countries, the UK, Austria, Switzerland and Mexico.
The smallest gaps are found in some Nordic and Central European countries: Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.

So pleased with the feedback & recommendations. In this new work, I am exploring whether the childcare gap matters for maternal employment from a macro perspective using country-year panel data. Early findings suggest it matters for the intensity of employment rather than the overall choice of it.
