Day 4: Kraken

Captain Sofia Dreadblade was at her lowest point. She was locked in shackles down in the brig of a navy ship, the rest of her crew all but certainly dead. The only reason she had been kept alive was so she could be publicly executed for her “crimes” against the crown. There was nothing for her to do but endure the long journey back to the capital or bite her tongue now to deny the colonizing bastards their show.

That would be the case at least, if Sofia didn’t have one last card to play. Strung around her neck was a family heirloom, a simple loop of string threaded through a coin-sized stone. If the her grandmother’s stories were to be believed swallowing the stone would grant her unimaginable power, at the cost of her humanity.

Sofia didn’t believe in magic, any supposed power the necklace held was second to its value as a memento of her mother. But with no other options and nothing to lose, she decided that she might as well put her faith in her grandma’s stories and pray for the power to avenge her crew.

Even with her hands bound above her head it was a simple task to bounce the stone high enough to catch in her mouth and saw through the string with her teeth. Without any hesitation she swallowed the stone, filling her mouth with the nauseating taste of seawater. There was a brief moment where nothing happened, just long enough for her to start feeling stupid, before a massive surge of growth shattered the chains binding her limbs and shredded what remained of her clothes.

When Sofia stood up her head bumped against the ceiling. She had been far from petite woman, but now she was huge. Not just in terms of height either. The firm muscles she had built over her more than decade of pirating had almost doubled in size. She reached over to the bars of her cell and bent them like they were made out of copper rather than steel.

This, of course, did not go unnoticed. The guard posted to watch Sofia at last woke up, only to find his prisoner now twice his height and more than four times his mass. The hand that had been moving to draw his pistol quickly changed course and tossed it aside before joining its brother up over his head.

That immediate act of supplication, of acknowledging her as obviously superior brought a wicked smile to Sofia’s face. As easy as it would have been to crush this bastard for all of the injustices he and his fellows had committed against her—and the many more they had no doubt committed against countless others—but she decided to be the bigger woman. Literally.

Another surge of power rippled through Sofia, her head smashing through the ceiling and into the deck above. The group of people that had been rushing down to the brig to investigate the noise were suddenly met with a hulking torso that took up the entire hallway before them.

Several of the men were smart enough to turn around and flee before Sofia’s majesty, with most of the others frozen stiff by sheer shock. A few however made the mistake of firing their pistols, their shots simply bouncing off her skin, and proving to Sofia that she had nothing to fear from these pitiful men. She was already so much more powerful then them—so much bigger then them—and she knew her ascension was far from over. She couldn’t help but let out a haughty laugh watching her hair clump together into dozens of tentacles and proceed to send the men hurtling into the walls, the laugh only growing more intense as another surge sent her crashing through the ceiling yet again.

Sofia was now towering over the main deck of the ship, most of the crew scrambling for the lifeboats rather than even attempt to stop her. This latest surge had brought more changes than simple growth however. Her breasts, which had almost been completely consumed by her bulging pectorals moments ago, had multiplied in both size and number; now four globes big enough to tit-fuck the ship’s mast. Six arms ran down her torso as well, running all across her massive form as she drank in the sheer ecstasy of her transformation.

If she wanted to Sofia could have ended the lives of every sailor in front of her with the same effort she would crush a bug. Many of them had already given up any hope of escape, prostrating themselves before her and begging for mercy. She was so massive, so powerful, so sexy that it only made sense for these bugs to worship her. Unfortunately while she had no interest in slaughtering them (no matter how much they might deserve it) she had no intention in saving them either.

After all, “God helps those who help themselves.”

One final surge of power, greater than any of the previous ones, reduced the ship to splinters as Sofia grew to the size of a castle. Her feet had unfurled into a mass of tentacles the darkened the sea around her. Each of her eight breasts alone were now larger than the ship she had been inside mere minutes ago, their nipples having split open into mouths that added their voices to her climax. Every inch of her skin became varying shades of fiery orange, as if daring any lesser creature to attack her.

As she came down from her monstrous orgasm, Sofia’s gaze was drawn towards the horizon. No matter how amusing it was to watch these sailors desperately cling to the wreckage of their ship, their suffering wouldn’t bring her people peace. With a grin on her face, the newly crowed queen of the sea slipped beneath the waves and began to swim towards the empire’s capital.

What is the difference here? Is it that Rebirth has "Phyrexian" in the card name but Transfusion does not? It would seem to be a strange reason, since Profane Transfusion has an illustration of two Phyrexians going at it and has a flavor text quote from Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor (a Phyrexian).

Today I learned that Phyrexian Rebirth and Profane Transfusion create different X/X artifact creature tokens. Rebirth originally just made a "Horror" token, but then they added the "Phyrexian" creature type to the game, so the token was updated, but, curiously, the one from Transfusion was not.

Look, I know the comic's not out yet. But this feels like, at least to my first impression, a way to sand down the rough edges of Teferi's backstory before the Zhalfir set comes out. I mean, he's already in the costume! He already sounds like a guy who's done all his growing!

Not only does the new comic make him look grown up (and already wearing his iconic outfit 🙄), he seems to lack any of the shit-disturbing qualities that he had in the stories already written (e.g. Time Streams).

He got out of his funk by helping Jhoira secure the Shivan mana rig and helping Urza fend off a force of Phyrexians that had been trapped in a ravine of fast time on Tolaria. At this point, he was a much older and wiser man, and also a planeswalker, and became the Royal Mage of Zhalfir.
