"Broooo did you hear they're playing a hyperpop reinterpretation of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme???"

Blurry pic of geese congregating on the water.

Paused while walking along a delightful nature trail only to hear a boat absolutely gun it on the water next to me blasting a phonk remix of disturbed's sound of silence cover

I made this my Tumblr general account avatar, but I kind of like it... Perhaps even more than my black and white grumpy one... a Gert of a new era (era = Orange)

Me drawn in mspaint, smiling, on an orange background.

modern streaming having so many shows with good first seasons and bad other ones is so scary. i remember eons ago when general convention was that, according to tv tropes, season 5 was obviously the best

the best part about looking at gameplay of something from the 80s or 90s is that it will be the most jank, most boring, most annoying game you've ever seen, and every comment will be like "beautiful... this is what gaming truly is... back when there were REAL games...!"

recent favorite subreddit is the hypothetical situations subreddit because it's all absolute bullshit like this

You receive $100m dollars but you must survive 2 years in Hawaii (abandoned) with 500 T-Rex roaming.

You’re a regular 85kg, 40 yr old male. You get to watch 2 seasons of Man vs Wild for survival skills. The island is magically abandoned overnight with supermarkets etc still filled as the day before abandonment. You wake up in a house on the beach with a note explaining where you are, how many T-Rex’s are on the loose and a back pack with 6 litres of clean water, basic camping equipment and a hunting knife.

yeah sure whatever, let lara croft cook potato stew on her phone for 2m0s of damage resistance who gives a shit anymore

a screenshot from the upcoming remake of Tomb Raider 1. lara croft is looking at her phone in the middle of an ancient ruin, and it's showing her a generic crafting menu, and a png of saucepan of stew that apparently her phone lets her cook for "Damage resistance" if she has 6 potatoes

Looking at indie stuff since I was a teenager mostly just means that whenever people talk about "groundbreaking gay representation" I insanely go "what do you mean. There has been great representation for decades, like in that webcomic only me and two other people read"

i read like 3.5 dungeon crawler carl books a few months back (beach curiosity) and i do not like the idea that they are actually popular. it is scary to imagine another human being reading them. side note, some of the most bare bones prose i've read in my entire life

why is everyone using the word "hyperfixation" instead of "interest" or "obsession" nowadays. come on now. this is like when people say they have OCD because they don't like clutter

not enough people warn that the horrors of growing up on rpgmaker games/certain visual novels is that it makes you want to write a super secret epic true route that unnecessarily lengthens the story and ends on an overly happy note for every single thing you make

More seriously, I do like setting things in a Time and Place, but I also do wish there was an easier way to do Whatever when writing historically-set fiction that didn't immediately set off people's "This is COMPLETELY INACCURATE" alarms

People online will literally go "heh... this straight ship is kind of gay to me" and then they will write it like "he (man) kissed her in a masculine fashion, as she womanly-ed grabbed him from a position of submission, due to being female, and then they had 2.5 children"

Thank you all for appreciating adult Mordred's outfit. In my mind, the most natural progression from his teen fashion is to just go all-in and start dressing like a dubiously ethical victorian scholar. Or something steampunk-adjacent

good-looking indie stuff is cool but i am not a fan of how some spaces seem to go "you can make something just as good as the industry, but YOURS!" when I believe the appeal of independent works is engaging with stuff of amateur/unacceptable quality and still feeling moved

I've seen enough AI slop to believe that we need to start drone striking data centers but also you guys can't just advertise your stuff as being "human made." You have to use adjectives and phrases to describe your work, instead of constantly putting it in comparison to AI
