Birthday is coming up in 2 weeks, and in that position again where I'm thinking about how many of my offline friends would actually show up if I decided to do anything to mark the occasion. I don't really drink. Wouldn't invite people out for booze anyway, since it'd be insensitive for some folks.

Y'all ever see one of those episodes of Tom and Jerry where the get their head trapped in a kettle. Or when they look through a big volumetric flask or a bowl of Jelly? Yeah that.

Found this Spitting Image book in a charity shop today and it features a parody of the 80s Transformers comics called Merchandisors. The Art is credited to Lee Sullivan.

The front cover to the Spitting Image Giant Komic Book. A pink background with an explosion in the middle with cartoons of various famous people from the late 80s flying out of it.

A page from the book featuring a Transformers comic parody called "Merchandisors - The Battle for Pocket Money". Several robots are running towards the foreground with a boy at the bottom. Two speech balloons contain the text "Oh my god! There are thousands of them! ...and I only get £2.50 a week!"

Just reminding me of this meme

A meme of a what I believe is a carcal (a large wild cat with tufted ears) that has a gaming headset on with the words, some of which are edited over with other words "every superhero is woke dipshit
It came free with the fucking concept of fighting social injustices" it then features an image of superman from his og appearances with the subtext "superman! Champion of the oppressed"

Another thing to remember on this bisexual day is that The Grungler is canonically bi. I do enjoy how it's become a term for "token cis guy who hangs out with a bunch of trans weirdos" but the original post was also about straight women being weird about bi men.

women will go on a 1st date with a guy and things will be going well until the guy casually mentions he's bi and she'll go home and start posting stuff like like 'we need to normalize being straight' and 'whatever happened to beauty' meanwhile the guy went home to play video games with a bunch of weird discord transsexuals and he named his character 'the grungler' and he keeps saying stuff like 'check it out guys, i'm the grungler'

The Term "Ubermensch" was coined by Nietzsche in 1883. The work it was coined in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" was first translated to English as "Overman" in 1896 (the year before Dracula came out!) And didn't sell well. The second translation was in 1909. And swapped 'Overman' for 'Superman'.

MegaMan 3. I remember my brother getting it for his 9th birthday (Nov' '92). Whole family sat around the TV playing it together. Pringles tubes on hands for a Buster, me and big bro were Mega and Proto. I was already a TF fan and starved for my robot special interest, and MM3 carried that torch.

I rarely post non-Armored Core art nowadays (eyes 621), but here is some gift art that I've made for a couple of my mutuals! Karin belongs to @holyfuror.blorbo.social.ap.brid.gy Casual!Zero belongs to @memphisr56.bsky.social 621 belongs to Felda and Egg Cat belongs to @knightly.bsky.social! 1/?

A colored fullbody doodle of @holyfuror.blorbo.social.ap.brid.gy's OC Karin. She is wearing the Vespers bomber jacket over her plug suit, and she is doing a peace sign with one hand while the other is inside her jacket pocket.

A colored half-body drawing of Zero from Mega Man X as designed by memphisr56.bsky.social on Bluesky! He is cheerfully doing the thumbs-up gesture with his left hand while his right hand is on his hip. Zero is wearing a red biker jacket and fingerless gloves.

A colored chibi drawing of C4-621/Raven as described by Felda. Raven is falling mid-air as if they are about to land onto the ground, and they are raising their right hand up with a determined look on their face.

A colored head-shot of Egg Cat by knightly.bsky.social. The cat is white with pale brown spots and rosy cheeks, and they are winking. A scrambled egg rests on the top of their head and they have a pink, plaid bow wrapped around their neck.

Elsewhere on Bluesky folks are noting that The Kids These Days aren't much into Douglas Adams. As someone who is much into Douglas Adams (and in fact wrote an intro to new edition of his works) allow me to remind folks that it's not actually surprising when The Kids aren't into decades-old stuff.

I feel like this info hasn't really gotten around, but XboX is not the gaming saviour some folks are making it out to be. Yeah, they're giving liscences with discs, but that comes with caveats: - the liscence moves with the disc. If someone else plays that same disc, it's DRM removes from library

Hey. Y'know what? This still exists, and it's amazing, and if you buy it, you will be feeding children in areas hit by poverty. Every penny goes to Mary's Meals. Ain't that wild? Would you believe we've made a whole 4 of these now? Including a whole trilogy?

Greetings, #transformerstcg players and fans. For our Card of the Week, we had plans for the card teased in last week’s entry. With today’s news of the passing of Peter Cullen, however, we thought we would instead dedicate this week’s entry to remembering the legendary voice of Optimus Prime.

I have had a few father figures in my life both good & bad, but Prime was one of the most special. You gave us the bravado of John Wayne, the Integrity of Abraham Lincoln, The Wisdom of Mr. Rogers, the Gentleness of Bob Ross, and the Courage of a war veteran. Thank you for everything, Mr. Cullen.
