My last #cosplay for the weekend! I just love being #GideontheNinth. Ran into another Gideon that gave me a bracelet (with curse words of course 😂). It was so sweet! (Alas, I also lost my skull somewhere on the convention floor! 😭)

Melanie dressed up as Gideon the 9th with a black outfit a skull face paint and aviators.

Timed #sketches at #PhoenixFanFusion! They had a fun event where cosplayers modeled and anybody could come and sketch them with timed intervals. #cosplay #watercolor

1 minute sketches, the color was added later though. A cosplayer reading a book one kneeling and another lying on the ground.

2 minute sketches, color added during the sketch. One person kneeling with a giant sword and another person sitting down with their arms crossed over their legs head down

The rapid fire 30 second sketches! The color was added in afterward. Four figures loosely sketched.

One 10-minute sketch of a woman sitting with a maid uniform and holding keys

Look at these amazing illustrations from @hemask.bsky.social! A most amazing artist at Phoenix Fan Fusion! I just kept picking up thing after thing (not in the photo is the pencil bag and Raven trinket pin!).

Tree journals each with an awesome sticker. One of Gideon the 9th, another of a snail with a house, and a teacup!

Phoenix Fan Fusion fun as Tippi Hedren from The Birds. Absolutely shocked how many people recognized me and came up to talk to me about the movie. Even young folks - gives me hope that the next gens are watching great movies

Please enjoy this ridiculously cute butterfly, which was about the size of my pinkie fingernail. It's in the butterfly family called metalmarks (Riodinidae). Males, like these, have reduced front legs and perch using only the rear 4 (females can use all 6). Sarota acantus; Costa Rica 🐙🌿 #insects

A macro photo, front three-quarter view, of a little butterfly perched on a green leaf. The butterfly has pale green eyes with black speckles, legs covered in thick yellow fuzzy hair, and orange wings sprinkled with metallic light blue patches. It is very cute.

Star Trek is this weird space-themed workplace drama where no one is allowed to have coffee or a water bottle. (Picard gets tea because he has a private office.) Everyone else is presumably dehydrated all the time, which works out because they have to take an elevator to find the nearest bathroom

The TNG Enterprise bridge crew. None of these people have a beverage. Not a cupholder in sight. Hell, Worf doesn't even get a chair. Standing desk only.

A good rule of thumb for life is to imagine what Jean Luc Picard would think if he found out what you were up to. Would he approve? Or would he give a long speech about how you've gone astray? NOTE: This works well for moral quandaries, but should never be applied to dating or sex

Oh shit. You have fucked up and put Picard on trail for treason. You thought you could go straight to the interrogation, but this nerd has memorized all the Starfleet regulations and now he's invoked his right to do a speech. He's picking apart your arguments. He's quoting Shakespeare. He's quoting your dad. Your life is in ruins. You will never recover.

One fun thing about this ep is that sometimes the characters make the same face I am when Barclay is talking and that is validating

Barclay and Riker are doing a walk-and-talk down a corridor. Barclay is explaining something in a firehose of technobabble and Riker is looking at him like Barclay is a dog trying to barking out the first five prime numbers.

Data is sitting down and making a look of utter disgust, like someone just farted next to him. Data is an android, and thus incapable of feeling emotions like disgust, but he has briefly managed it anyway. Barclay has a knack for bringing that out in people
