Y’day I ran from home up to Waddles Down, up in the NW corner of my map. The BT tower is visible from miles around. Once you leave the Exe, it is up, up, up the lanes. The views are fantastic across Exeter, down the coast, across to the moors. Surprised to find 4 Cirl Buntings nr the tower.

Start of the month compared to the end of the month at Bowling Green Marsh, Topsham. The water level continues to fall. The puddle on the right in the top picture has now all but gone. Someone asked me yesterday what has happened to the marsh. I simply replied “climate change” 😢

I ran Ealing half marathon today dressed as a plane to protest against the race being sponsored by Wizz Air. Airlines shouldn’t be sponsoring running events. They really are taking the wizz. (As opposed to these guys, who are taking a wizz)

This afternoon I headed out to Cranbrook. There are plenty of streets through the new town that I’ve yet to run. I wasn’t expecting to get much from the run, but as ever there were a few surprises: a country road linking Cranbrook to Broadclyst Station, green lanes and green spaces. Enjoyed that.

This week is Ealing Climate Week. And on Sunday a big polluter is using Ealing as a billboard! It’s the Wizz Air Ealing Half Marathon Running doesn’t go hand-in-hand with promoting flying. It’s a huge contradiction. We hope Ealing Council can help convince the Ealing Half Marathon to drop Wizz Air.

When running from home 2 Dawlish I took an impromptu turn at Cofton & ran along the A379. I hopped into the hedge & onto the verge as cars & lorries shot by & dashed from side to side to avoid blind corners. But it was satisfying to add another line to my Local heat map of running. I’ll not return.

Went for a walk around the suburbs to walk 7km of new roads & paths for my heat map. Sought out green paths through the city. Amazed to find a small patch of Autumn Ladies Tresses in Pennsylvania. Just goes to show what’s out there. Crossed the edge of the Mincinglake fire. Sad sight.
