The midterms have turned my TV in Northern Vermont into an election ad hellscape. We are in the NH and NY media markets, so watching Jeopardy means sitting through NH Senate ads and NY-21 ads. Plus our own governor remembered that he should campaign for re-election. Sheesh.

In a first for me, a student meeting for virtual office hours took his phone (and therefore me) to the bathroom so he could brush his teeth. Camera on the entire time! I applaud a commitment to dental hygiene, but perhaps not while we're talking about math class...

I agree! I have been privileged to perform in several concerts for incarcerated audiences. Each was an intensely moving experience for me. In those moments, the music was a reminder of our shared humanity, regardless of the circumstance that brought us to that space.
