I have been teaching at Brown University for 16 years, and have considered campus and Providence as one of the safest places I've ever lived in the U.S. Still, it's happened here. My heart goes out to those students and families as they deal with this. We owe them better.

Excited to report that Dr. Nik Allan and I received a $3M NIMH R01 to optimize the delivery of safety planning-type interventions (SPIs) in psychiatric inpatients by identifying contexts that signify SPI use is clinically indicated & conditions that potentiate/inhibit SPI efficacy.
