Emma Hayes's full comments on the USYNT U-20s, as requested. (Forgive typos, rush job since I gotta make dinner.) Full text here in a doc since it was never going to fit alt text limits: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

"Emma Hayes has limited time." A reporter: Asks about the U-20 results. Emma: ......... I am ready to talk about this forever.

Despite being listed in the midfield, Hayes confirms Shores is a left back prospect.

Emma Hayes: "Do I expect that Caterina Macario will be available for the January camp? That's my hope. Do I think she could be back sooner? At what cost would be the question. She also has to respond to everything that goes well within that. She's on the grass. She's training."

Emma Hayes just said Naomi Girma took a knock in training today, and it's currently unclear if she will remain on the USWNT roster for the games against Spain.

Oh yeah, man is on a different level of weird.

Merry asks "What about ACFC?"

Aragon says you've already had it

Merry says we've had one, yes

Merry says "what about second ACFC?"

The first text of ACFC is in pink approximating the colors of Angel City FC. The second ACFC is in red-orange approximating the colors of the newly announced Atlanta City FC

technically not an acronym since those have to be read phonetically like nasa or nato, it's just an abbreviation but also it's a bad abbreviation that does not fit the nwsl stylistic universe

"Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve has been named the 2026 State Street Investment Management SPY WNBA Coach of the Year, the WNBA announced today." Ah yes, the SSIMSPYWNBACOTY award.

for as long as the NWSL has existed, its clubs have had to use cool team names with unique localized branding while MLS teams have just slapped "City United FC" on a private equity-ass crest. but not anymore. women can be boring too

I’m at the point where if I’m commissioner for a day I’m banning City, United and FC from all team names.

Racing Louisville could have probably scored four goals tonight. Rough.

Because I may be the only person on this website that is on the U2 mailing list, I bring you Dolly Parton news. Her final recorded performance is a duet on their new album.

the final track on the new album, 'Torn', a duet between Bono and the late, great Dolly Parton, in what has sadly turned out to be her last recorded vocal performance. Co-written by U2, Parton and Johnny McDaid, it's a tender country song detailing broken family ties that holds wider resonances.

One of my worst habits as a human is seeing “seriously don’t look up this sports injury footage” and then immediately looking it up and watching it despite knowing I should not:

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

KC had excellent looks in the first half but have scrapped for back-to-back goals and it's all even at CPKC. Noise levels have returned. Feels like there's time for more goals, for sure.
