I got it on prescription when my asthma went haywire one spring due to hay fever. They put it in my repeat.

And I can’t even complain because one of my friends once did it with 3 kids under 5!

Let me tell you about the time my 7 year old watched Frozen on a loop from Glasgow to Dubai and then Dubai to Auckland and DID NOT SLEEP.

If you’ve got 8 hours instead of 9 hop on the metro and head into the city centre.

Fexofenadine is great stuff. It’s available and not expensive at supermarkets.

I've loved seeing NZ through someone else's eyes every day, though its made the homesickness worse. After 32 years away I always get homesick at this time of year and its been 4 years since I have been back.

This was my childhood playground. My grandparents lived there until I was a teen and we stayed with them every school holiday. We used to slide down the north slope of Takarunga on bits of cardboard. Parts of the Netflix East of Eden were filmed in Cheltenham and there's some epic pohutukawa in it!

I grew up in NZ and they did the opposite. Auckland went from many small local authorities in the 80s to 4 city and 3 rural councils in 1990,then a single council with a population of 1.8 million people in 2010. Not recommended That model has been rejected by Christchurch (2nd biggest city).

I’m sure they didn’t used to make it so clear that the players were returning to their “individual accommodation”. Has there been hints of impropriety?

I was just pleased that after almost 30 years out of IT I didn’t have to just hand it over to the 21 year old.

The good news was that bit all worked perfectly - restarted all the switches and the network ran the other way round. Apparently I can switch to mesh and not have this problem but this works with just a few light bulbs to reconnect. All our portable devices connected to both anyway.

Similar here - we have ethernet and a wired in wifi extender because this house has had multiple extensions. But I went from Virgin, whose cables run under the street out front to Plusnet via Openreach who connect from a pole at the back. So the router and extender swapped places.

If Dublin City Council covered all of what most of us would think of as Dublin, there might be an argument. But it doesn't. If they live in Blanch or Dun Laoghaire or Tallaght what's the problem?

Ah yes, I had this a couple of weeks ago when a provider change also meant the router and wifi extension swapped places. Still don't have all the smart bulbs working again.

Chilly couple of days in the city of sails by the look of it. When we have a bad summer in Scotland is to check whether its actually warmer in Auckland, where it is winter, and often it is.

Correction - population is 65k. The county is 100k. FWIW the town is Horsens. Its about 40 minutes from Denmark's second city Aarhus. There's also more industry there than there was in 1991, rather than less.

There's new big box stores, mostly adjacent to the town centre and more supermarkets but they are dotted around the town. More of the villages around about have the Danish version of a Scotmid but they are well stocked with fresh food. Quite the contrast to Falkirk.

I was in Denmark recently, visiting the town (pop ~100k) I lived in as a teenager in the early 90s. The high street is not half empty. In fact a small shopping centre has added stores and parking; there are more restaurants and cafes. It was busy and vibrant even on a wet Tuesday.

We saw a kea in a zoo in Europe one time and a lot of time had clearly been spent creating a habitat that resembled its normal territory. However they had not figured out the enrichment activities. It needed a few wiper blades to keep it bust. Auckland Zoo do loads of enrichment with their kea.

Whenever I have heard about Bennu on the radio I just end up thinking of the character Benny (pronounced Bennu) from Danish TV show The Julekalender and/or Benny from Abba.
Benny is a balding, thin white man wearing a grey suit. As he is in his alter-ego as a nåså or evil elf, he has big teeth and ugly glasses. A Danish Christmas hearts and a small stuffed bird wearing an elf hat are in the background.

Many people talk about young people socialising in very similar ways. A group of "youths" hanging around near a shop is anti-social behaviour. Benches are removed to prevent teens having around. ASB orders were always just a way to criminalise behaviour which is not in itself criminal.

The town I lived in as a teenager in Denmark has a similar story about the German commander during the occupation, who eventually got his wish to stay at Horsens Fængsel (prison).
The gate house of Horsens Prison in Denmark, a mid 1800s building with towers at either end, with the main block, built in the early 1900s, behind.

the common belief that so-called "back office" roles in the public sector are unnecessary is predicated on an understanding of the world of work that's no deeper than "when mummy hides her face she isn't actually there anymore"

I'm into week two of renovations here and we've just discovered that every single door (there are 5) in the old part of the house (built 1908) has a different length tube mortice latch. 15 minutes ago I didn't know they were called that.

Other Whitakers options exist. Whitakers created a chocolate bar based on an iconic NZ ice lolly - the Jelly Tip. Except my Scottish kid knew the chocolate first (I order it from the NZ shop in London). So on a visit to NZ he says "hey look Mum they made an ice cream based on that chocolate".
