To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. All for a data center. www.gadgetreview.com/one-of-ameri...

One of America’s Last Chestnut Groves Is About to Be Destroyed for a Data Center

A rare 200-tree American chestnut grove in West Virginia may be cleared for data-center development, but the project denies the site is on its land.

The best part of being an artist is that you can just draw whatever dumb idea comes to your head at 1am

A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. Linguinis eye is pierced by a fork version of the spear and Remy is depicted in an inset where he is grabbing his eye and screaming like the anime. There are anime subtitles at the bottom that say "AHHHHHHHHH!"

We have a little over 24 hours to save the internet. The vote for a package of internet-freedom destroying bills is being rushed to the US House floor on Monday the 29th. Spread this beyond Bluesky, ASAP. www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

An assortment of groups has submitted a set of awful proposals to the FDA concerning estrogen as HRT. theneedlenews.com/anti-trans-h... Public comment is still open. If you comment opposing these proposals and send me a screenshot, I'll draw you a sketch in this thread (link+examples below).

In the short term, this is not as dangerous as an outright ban on estrogen. If implemented and then combined with other methods of suppressing trans people, it might be far more destructive in the lon...

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties. The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized. Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

🚨‼️As of yesterday KOSA is at 64 cosponsors with @vanhollen.senate.gov + @kim.senate.gov - who claim to support LGTBQ+ rights but are clearly okay with supporting legislation that’ll censor us off the internet- newly signed on. You know what to do: www.stopkosa.com

Article excerpt with text that reads The third and final way lawmakers are advancing anti-LGBTQ+ censorship is by reintroducing KOSA, the fake online safety bill, that would establish a “duty of care” for apps and websites used by young people, requiring them to use censorship to “prevent and mitigate” harms like anxiety and depression. KOSA takes the same logic of the bans on drag shows and LGBTQ+ books and applies it to the internet, allowing censorship of a broad range of information in the name of protecting kids from real online harm.

We need to start speaking up- no- YELLING to support and defend trans people. If you're in the USA, call your legislators. Literally email and call your representatives. Cis people have the loudest voices right now and those voices MUST be used to protect trans people.
