Merz and Leyen (both CDU) on the other hand accepted the con man's bully-terms because, if CDU members are to be believed, opposing MAGA would ultimately benefit the Greens, the Left & Social Democrats. Instead, Merz preferred to sell out to the AfD (policies) and normalize right-wing extremisms.
