Star Wars: Zero Company is a game about what happens when a new administration dismantles all standing health and safety departments, while redirecting staff and finances into loyalty tests and time-wasting displays of fealty as avoidable illnesses sweep the universe.

Also, whether they're hierarchical seems irrelevant. EM and OB are plenty hierarchical, but on the more democratic end of the spectrum. There is certainly plenty of mistreatment/abuse in med school and residency, but it doesn't seem to necessarily correlate to the politics of the specialty.

It's weird to say "no", offer no rationale for saying no, then hard pivot to your own theory. You don't really address my thought. You just told me I was wrong and offered your own take. That's fine if you're just trying to feel smart, but not helpful if you're actually trying to have a dialogue.

Therefore, they are less compassionate to people who have less and more willing to buy into the conservative "poor people just don't try hard enough" mantra.

One thing I'm not seeing discussed is the academic & competitive nature of the specialty. The highest paying specialties are also often the most competitive academically. I wonder if there is an effect where the highest achieving people believe they have earned everything themselves and deserve it.

I'm surprised people are surprised. They look remarkably similar to the original box art. It seems like what Nintendo probably wished they could do all along but were limited by hardware.

Star Fox box art with Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippi stand shoulder to shoulder while ships fly overhead.

I'm totally baffled by the outrage, not because it's on brand for Nintendo but because they look essentially identical to the original Star Fox box art. It feels like this is what Nintendo wanted them to look like all along, but none of the systems had enough horsepower to pull it off.

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

Give me Braid, Fez, VVVVV, Inscryption, Balatro, Rogue Legacy, Terraria, Geometry Wars, Doki Doki Lit Club, etc. over the "latest thing" any day.
