Scott's experience is a problem in some ways. He beat Jane Kim for State Senate in 2016 in significant part by connecting to voters who responded to homeless people camping in tents with resentment rather than sympathy. He supports A,D,E&F, opposes Prop 40. sfist.com/2016/01/26/w...

And Prop D would also block groups or 4 or 5 Supervisors from putting measures on the ballot if they can't get a 6-member majority. I wrote up that part here: marthabridegam.com/2026/09/07/m...

Mayor Lurie’s Prop. D could have suppressed six recent ballot measures. They passed. They matter.
On our November 3, 2026 San Francisco local ballot, Mayor Lurie has proposed a group of measures — Propositions D, E and F — that would strengthen the power of the Mayor’s office,…

Propositions D-E-F are the attempt to take even more power for the mayor's office from the voters and Board of Supervisors. Prop A is, inter alia, an attempt to centralize control of the Prop C housing fund, likely defeating what we worked for by putting the money into shelters, not real homes.

San Diego is not expendable. Our lives are not bargaining chips. The President’s words were reckless, dangerous, and a betrayal of the people he swore to protect. I love this city, and I will never stay quiet when someone treats our families, neighbors, and communities like they are disposable.
Tonight, the President of the United States stood on a stage and told a cheering crowd, “Let them take out San Diego.” He went on to call the destruction of our city “a very small price to pay.”

San Diego is home to 1.4 million people. We are workers, families, children, veterans, immigrants, sailors, Marines, and people who love this city and call it home. We are not expendable. Los Angeles is not expendable. No American city is.

For a President to speak so casually about an attack on the people he is sworn to protect is reckless, dangerous, and treasonous. At a time when American servicemembers and their families are already bearing the consequences of his war with Iran, San Diegans deserve a President focused on keeping them safe, not talking about sacrificing them.

Every elected leader in San Diego, regardless of party, should condemn these comments without qualification. There should be nothing partisan about standing up for our city and the people who live here.

Our lives are not bargaining chips.

Donald, keep our name out of your mouth.

Srsly what is the techbros' thing with vaguely equestrian trousers in dark synthetic fabrics sewn loose and full of cargo pockets along hip and thigh but close-fitting below the knee. Intensely unattractive yet easy to spot in downtown San Francisco.

For crim law in the early 1990s, our professor was an aged lion of the law, a past FDR-era securities regulator, politically liberal, mainly fairminded. He shocked many of us by stating his personal belief that spousal rape was logically impossible -- a category error. Some assumptions do change.

Also: Where's our Bd of Supervisors on Flock? Why was this only a self-regulating edict from the Mayor after pressure from the Human Rights Commn.? And with a strong-mayor system in SF already, why would anyone vote for Props. D, E, F, or A to shift more power to the Mayor from the Supes & voters?
