People liked this video back when I posted it on Twitter, so I'll repost it on here for fresh eyes 👀 This is a way of creating masks out of painterly textures and using those to quickly lay down interesting shapes and strokes early on for some nice stylized colour and roughness variation!

For my portfolio, I wanted a "slice of life" medieval scene. So I painted a haberdashery shop in an European city c. 1440s. The Middle Ages were more colorful than Hollywood would have us believe! So this is my interpretation of how you might see that in clothes, painted decorations and facades.
