The real low point in Kevin Gallagher's speech earlier this week was when he claimed the gas industry receives no government subsidies. Between direct grants - $15m - and free credits - $85m - Santos has received $100m worth of federal subsidies for its Moomba CCS project. I guess he forgot those.

Training in economics is usually a red flag for understanding ethics in my experience. Responsibility lies overwhelmingly with the producers and their lobbyists. It's not even close. There's no point even bringing individual choice into the conversation until the fossil fuel lobby is dismantled.
