Anybody else have this happen? My nostrils are itchy. Yes, my nose hairs grow faster now that I'm middle aged, but I trim them with a Remington tool, and yet, the itch CONTINUES. The only recourse is scratching those itches but I swear to you, cubicle neighbors, I'm not picking my nose!

Thanks to my wife, we are homeowners. I am no handyman, but today I'm scraping, sanding and repainting our front porch. I get a bit of a subtle, personal thrill out of doing these things because in their way, they are small acts of the destruction/creation cycle that we participate in.

Doing paperwork/training modules to become a substitute teacher again, because I'm at my wit's end after 8 months of being out of work. I hate teaching, but I hate doing several hours of training on child abuse and suicide prevention. Not because it's not necessary, but because it IS.

Some schmoe on IG was trying to dunk on an old clip of Henry Rollins on saying Miles Davis never had a platinum record, by saying Kind of Blue is 5x platinum. I schooled him that that record wasn't even 1x platinum until 1997,4 years AFTER that clip. He blocked me. Why do I feel so powerful now?

This summer: I got laid off, I gained back all the weight I lost, and I hurt all over. Some jackamope hit my car last night and took off. I fell out of bed a few nights ago, and the bruises are showing up, and my knee hurts like hell. I should just go to bed. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I know I'm late to the party on this, but I'm watching Marcella on Netflix, and I haven't seen a police procedural this good since Luther, with Idris Elba! But then again, I'm ALSO watching Dark Winds with Zahn McLernon, which is just as good! TV numbs the nerve damage of living through now.
