Jealous of everyone who’s gonna be there! Have a great time and know I’m watching from behind my screen and am there in spirit!

It's funny that the first 5 DCU movies are 3 Super-family movies and 2 villain movies.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 1-6 (‘84-‘85) I really enjoyed this one! It was a sequel to the story that 2014’s The Wolverine is based off of, but Kitty joins the ‘fun’ in Japan this time. While also going through a bit of a change in character by the end.

THIS is the republican strategy once again. weaponize your bigotry against you. “you don’t want healthcare! that means immigrants will get it too!” “you don’t want childcare! that means black people will get it too!” “you don’t want bodily autonomy! THAT MEANS TRANS PEOPLE WILL GET IT TOO!”

oh look! ceding ground on trans rights also means sacrificing YOUR rights! “trans aren’t my rights, i’m not trans.” really? cause republicans sure seem to think they’re directly linked!

I've been boycotting Paramount for a good while now, and now that HBO/WB is getting dragged into it, I won't be seeing Clayface, Dune 3, or Superman 2, which sucks. The Lanterns finale will now be the last thing from HBO/DC/WB I watch I guess. Fuck the evil corporate overlords.

America today is a country where regulators won't allow private companies to air interviews of the opposition on TV, but declare that taxpayer funded propaganda is fine.

The only trailer I've seen for this movie was a 3-5 minute montage of all of Tom Cruise's other film roles followed by the Digger logo. From my perspective, that made it seem like the creators didn't have confidence in the project, just the actor.

They already took it down. If you click the link now, it just says "We thank you for your time spent taking this survey. Your response has been recorded." Even if you didn't fill anything out. Or at least it did for me. I'd imagine the system was overwhelmed with negative responses.

I do find it shocking how many reviewers don't peruse the options menus to see if any of their criticisms can be solved in some fashion. Parry windows and stealth difficulty are often able to be tweaked, for example! Be brave! Dive in! Make the game you want!

West Coast Avengers (vol 1) 1-4 (‘84) So much of Marvel takes place in New York that moving some characters and focusing on some less well-known characters is always a win for me. I’m a sucker for new team ups. Excited that they basically immediately follow this up with WCA vol 2.

I get his point, but the scale of loss is also important. If they lost by 1 or 2 points, then that quote is uncalled for. If they lost by 10+ then I see it as justified. That said, I recognize I'm just nitpicking here.

120

Matt Grover @mattgrover.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

The difference is how they're divided. Blood of the Dawnwalker had mostly 8's and 9's, whereas Control is more divided. So while they have the same average, one is clearly more divisive than the other. Plus, I'm already 20+ hours into BotD, so I'm not stopping at this point.

000

Matt Grover @mattgrover.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Tbh I hadn't actually seen the meta/opencritic until after I posted this, but because the reviews are more sporadic, I'm gonna give it some time before I get to it to decide how I feel. Especially since I'm loving BotD and Fire Emblem already.

010

Matt Grover @mattgrover.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

For me, the difference between Control's 85 & Blood of the Dawnwalker's 8.5 is how they got to that number. Most of the Blood of Dawnwalker reviews are 8's, 9's, or 10's. Control's are split between 6's, 10's & everything in between. To me, that's a bit more divided, so it feels more middling.

110

Matt Grover @mattgrover.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Tbh I'm kinda grateful for the middling reviews for Wolverine/Control:Resonant. It means I can actually finish Blood of the Dawnwalker and Fire Emblem without having to feel rushed. The other two I'll wait for a sale.
