Don't do that.

I've been told that this is cheating, a cop-out, or avoiding the "interesting" aspects of the question. I don't think it is. Framing the world as a series of individual can't-win situations and lose-lose decisions _is_ the problem.

It is this: you design the system with positive train control. You make it so the trolley cannot enter a section where there are people, and you make it so the trolley can be stopped quickly if something goes wrong.

There is a correct solution to the trolley problem.

The new onboard fare collection on the #MBTA is a complete failure. At Gilman — the busiest station on the GLX — I see 0% (zero percent) of people tap on.

Still working to figure out the shape of the new job, but the essence is: we intend to make this good for upstreams. Not as a “way to give back” or mere marketing claims, but because that’s the only way this works long-term. I’m going to help make that intention into fact.

You don't notice this because most Mennonites are invisible. That's because we tend to wear... jeans and a t-shirt. (For me, this extends to being somewhat uncomfortable dressing up _more_ than that.)

Reading Marco Rubio’s speech about how “western civilization” is about embracing God, rejecting the foolish ideal of cosmopolitanism, and celebrating the genius of bands like The Beatles who were founded by the guy who wrote that song about a world with no countries or the concept of heaven & hell.
That infamous wall that had cleaved this
nation into two came down, and with it an evil empire, and the East and West became one again. But the euphoria of this triumph led us to a dangerous delusion: that we had entered, quote, "the end of history;" that every nation would now be a liberal democracy; that the ties formed by trade and by commerce alone would now e replace nationhood; that the rules-based global order - an overused term - would now replace the national interest; and that we would now live in a world without
borders where everyone became a citizen of the world.
This was a foolish idea that ignored both human nature and it ignored the lessons of over 5,000 years of recorded human history. And it has cost us dearly. In thisthe world were born. It was here in Europe where the world - which gave the world the rule of law, the universities, and the scientific revolution. It was this continent that produced the genius of Mozart and Beethoven, of Dante and Shakespeare, of Michelangelo and Da Vinci, of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. And this is the place where the vaulted ceilings of the Sistine Chapel and the towering spires of the great cathedral in Cologne, they testify not just to the greatness of our past or to a faith in God that inspired these marvels. TheyJOHN LENNON - IMAGINE LYRICS
Writers): LENNON, JOHN
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one L hope some day you'll join us And the world will live as one

People have trouble interpreting this. Nobody’s saying Donald Trump or Pam Bondi are personally selecting Nazi iconography. They don’t read enough for that. The point is they hire and promote Nazis who ARE steeped in Nazi iconography, and they’re fine with it.
