www.cbc.ca/listen/live-... Anyone care to listen to what I had to say on CBC this afternoon? Again about the ascent vote in #mapleridge

A key detail for #MapleRidge advance voting: Under BC law, a YES on the rec referendum only grants borrowing permission: it doesn’t force Council to build. An uncooperative council can stall or downsize projects (like the ice rink) on Day 1. If you vote yes, Council alignment matters just as much.

Infographic slide titled "A 'YES' Vote Grants Permission to Borrow Not An Order to Build", with the subtitle: "Under B.C. municipal law, an uncooperative council can stall, downsize, or cancel approved recreation projects on day one."

Two comparison columns are shown:

Left column with red cross icons ("With an Opposing Council Majority"):

* Non-Binding Loophole: Mandate treated as optional advice.

* Endless Delays: Stalled in reviews until inflation kills budget & contingencies.

* Scope Creep: Alternate sites re-explored in spite of city staff recommendations.

* Shelved Projects: Pools, ice sheets, and parklands downsized to save costs.

Right column with green checkmark icons ("With a Supportive Council Majority"):

* Immediate Adoption: Loan bylaw enacted without obstruction.

* Shovels in Ground: Construction launched on schedule.

* Tax Protection: Maximizes developer funding to shield owners. Minimizes overruns.

* Delivered Facilities: Full Aquatics Centre, ice pads, and Fraser Riverside park built.

Bottom banner text: "Don't give permission to a council that will tear up the plan. Protect your vote: Bullet-Vote only candidates committed to recreation ready."

My take b4 reading the article: My biggest worry for next season is a defensive core with bad habits from last season leaving Demko out to dry and he aggravates nagging injuries. Would be nice if Demko played like its the all-star game. Where one barely butterflies and you know, has a chill season.

Had the absolute pleasure to chat with Justin McElroy and Cindy Masuch about Haney Place Mall, its history, its advantages, and ultimately, what ails it. I wanted to plea the case of a space on the rebound. There is hope for this bit of real estate, but plenty of opportunity are left in it.

There is nothing stopping us from doing our own AM radio station and broadcasting Canucks games and providing sports talk.

Have enough pieces left to make a notable improvement on locker room culture? Was news of the locker room issues a shock amongst the press pool? Do we have a prognosis for if this team will gel better off the ice.

Hot #canucks take. Petey can stay during the rebuild if teams don’t want him. I get fans feel fleeced but at the same time, ignoring salary, the guy plays top line minutes. And perhaps in a few years or when 2032 is here, and the cap is up we can retain 50% for a 1st rounder + prospect.

It was about getting a 1st round pick knowing that we don’t need to be good for a couple seasons and Penny’s brother is good enough.

Not worth watching in the current state

It won’t be any easier to win. I think #Canucks need to do some Coach shopping once Tocchet is gone this summer and make some hard roster decisions come TDL/Jul1

Remember last year when the #canucks couldn’t lose with the lead?

#Canucks blow another 3-1 lead. Something has to change. This team is just utter shit.

Well, I agree with you that we are only getting 1 playoff

Hearing the reports from Friedman that both could go, I do think its in the #canucks best interest to move both Miller and Petey and try again in a few years
