Thinking of my dad today. In the days leading up to D-Day, he was a part of a unit building airfields across England. After D-Day, his unit built airfields across Europe.
Pencil drawing of US Army soldier while stationed in England 1944. Paper is tan colored.

Well, I was just thinking of getting my small ladder out to change lightbulbs. Maybe I should rethink?

Back in the late 1980’s I was at a cardiology seminar, I worked ICU at the time. I asked a physician presenter if women’s heart disease should be studied since progression and expression was different, he said no. I was hoping to not hear that nonsense again.

It is so sad. My mom was a RN from 1945 to 1998, saw the devastation of vaccine preventable diseases and got us vaccinated as soon as a new vaccine came out. This is devastating.

This is so important. I’ve taken care of children who didn’t die from their vaccine preventable illness but instead -lost limbs -developed kidney failure requiring dialysis -had strokes and permanent deficits Death isn’t the only bad outcome. And sometimes it may not be the worst one.

Wow, throwing a ton of people into caring for elders that have no training, little supervision (I hear new rules are coming that eliminates the requirement for RNs in NH care) certainly won’t cause any bad outcomes (sarcasm).

#HCWvsHunger #KCKidsHemeOnc Today’s donation was logged to KC Kids, since I live in KC. I have worked in health care over 50 years, and in many different areas, so I give to different groups.

Both were covered by Medicare and my co-insurance at CVS, had no problem. But on a good note, there was a line of folks getting vaccinations. Old, middle and school age!

Certainly not now with health care in the state it is. Back then, stays were long and much less acuity, but I still remember the patients with stage 4 pressure ulcers, seeing death and lots of enemas

Started my first NA job at 15, but the hospital I worked at limited hours until out of high school (back in the Stone Age) But also would not recommend for that age.

Tylenol can have nasty effects if used incorrectly, there are no drugs that are 100% safe.

Yep, the TB San in my home county was still being used in the 1960’s.
