mathenpointe @mathenpointe.bsky.social · 17hSorry for jumping to conclusions. You're right. I've heard the *on arterial roads* so many times from so many supposedly progressive people that I made assumptions. I had a terrible experience and didn't realize just how bad until I moved and finally slept through the night. Glad you're happy! 120
mathenpointe @mathenpointe.bsky.social · 17hI know it's the most realistic option in a city like Toronto. But it's one thing to hear it from your Councillor who needs the votes of those SFH dwellers, it's another to hear it from so-called progressive YIMBYs. It's not a progressive position at all to add the on arterial roads caveat. 000
mathenpointe @mathenpointe.bsky.social · 18hWe need more density on all streets, not arterials. A street with a lot of cars on it is not appropriate for people to live on! Leave it for commerce, offices, etc. 100
mathenpointe @mathenpointe.bsky.social · 18hNo. I don't want to live on an arterial road. I did for a while and didn't sleep well the entire time because of loud cars and buses. Couldn't use my balcony or open the windows because everything was covered in tire dust. People who can't afford SFHs also deserve quiet and air they can breathe. 210

mathenpointe @mathenpointe.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I have the reverse of this problem. My father and uncle are quite dependent on me -- I'm the only family they can rely on.
