i'm seeing more ocd awareness stuff online and that's very good but also i'm seeing more using ocd stuff as a insult or accusation thing and not actually trying to help someone out even in progressive circles online and that sucks

i kinda just lurk in the fanbase now but people expecting hazbin to be super super dark is setting themselves for disappointment, like the show will go into darker topics but it's a comedy and i think fanbases of both shows forget that sometimes i do think the show needs sensitivity readers tho

in video games the word "survival" means clearcutting a forest to build a fortress and "cozy" means starting a small business so you can eventually earn enough money to clearcut a forest and build a fortress

thought i had awhile ago and i might sound insane but i think around 2019-21 alot of cartoon geeky people from tumblr/twitter started surfing 4chan due to cartoon community talking stuff getting smaller/splitting apart and now alot of attitude stuff from 4chan is in those communities now

in general a lot of nerd discourse across the internet just boils down to tough guy posturing over who has the most correct taste in fiction

and it's like. this is still moralizing peoples' tastes in fiction, just in a different direction. i love berserk but i don't think this makes me better than someone who would rather watch bluey, as long as they don't think we should be burning berserk volumes or whatever. it's all just hobbies

feels like a lot of people online see ppl moralizing taste in fiction (reading Problematic Books will taint you, etc.) and respond not with "the fiction you engage with doesn't reflect your moral fiber" but rather by flipping it and saying liking more transgressive art makes you a better person

I was told by Nickelodeon Execs that my Paw Patrol script about a tornado that flings pies was way too scary for midwesterners and that it presented (and this is an exact quote) "A DIRECT THREAT TO MIDDLE AMERICA."

i just had a thought is there alot of indie animation pitches out there because people don't make/it's hard to make money off of webcomics anymore? kinda interesting because i think for awhile there was webcomics made as sort of pilot pitch for a tv series and making the comic to get a better deal
