I’m female. Every cell in my body shows I’m female. The way my body functions shows I’m female. It doesn’t depend on how I do or don’t dress, do my hair, my mannerisms, empathy, or femininity. If I need HRT, it’ll replace hormones naturally occurring because I’m female. I’m not a gender identity.

John Atkinson Grimshaw’s 1881 masterpiece, Boar Lane, Leeds, perfectly captures the moody romance of a Victorian evening. The painting showcases a damp street glistening with reflections of warm gaslight from bustling shop windows. Renowned for his nocturnal urban landscapes, Grimshaw masterfully contrasts the eerie, twilight sky with the inviting glow of civilisation. This atmospheric piece remains an enduring tribute to industrial Leeds Image: Boar Lane, Leeds, 1881, Leeds Art Gallery

This isn’t transphobia, bigotry, white supremacy, right wing fascism. It’s understanding women have been oppressed for millennia. Trying to preserve our very fragile ability now to define our own boundaries by excluding all men from single sex spaces is essential to us maintaining that freedom.

Really? Is that it? If this is all that’s come from COBR, it’s pitifully inadequate. As crisis deepens, it beggars belief that there aren’t eg plans to increase resources for the fire service, support for farmers, max workplace temperature, funded community cool spaces & obvs ban on new fossil fuels

Sick of this ideologically-illiterate, ahistorical codswallop. Feminist histories are not 'far right'. Women's struggle in trade unions is not 'far right'. Marxist, socialist, materialist feminist thinking is not 'far right'. The right exploiting stupidity of trans activism is not women's fault.

“The transformation of their existence into an “issue” is evil.” We just wish for single sex spaces to be respected in those few situations where they are necessary for our safety, dignity and fairness. Is that evil? It’s such manipulative language whilst not engaging the arguments.

If legislation changes to prioritise one group (trans) above another (women) driven by mantra 'trans women are women' then inevitably an issue is created. It's not "evil" it's a necessary debate about fairness, equity, rights. Recognising, supporting and celebrating women's existence matters too.

Why does Baroness Cass not focus on this as parental abuse? The harm inflicted in this case stems directly from the parents' actions.
