#80sTop30 near misses. This band will definitely be in my 30 but this won't make it. It so nearly did thanks to the phenomenally 80s video with @martinbrammer.bsky.social never looking cooler alongside the uber cool Gail Ann Dorsey The Kane Gang Don't Look Any Further youtu.be/Sw3BGw6xF7k?...

Especially for @daveamitri.bsky.social the Zelig like run continues. RIP Sam Moore. Sad we never got to play football together!

Out in the car, rain starts. Text daughter to see if she’d like picking up from school. She gets in. “Can I play you a song I’ve been listening to?” I agree with the usual trepidation. Todd Rungdren’s “Hello It’s Me” starts up. Whoop. Maybe, just maybe, I’m a better at parenting than I thought.

Just learned that there was a Superman comic in 1949 where the plot is Orson Welles has been abducted by Martians, but no one believes him because of War of the Worlds lol

Sad story in The Times about 88 year old farmer, John Kemp-Welch, who works 5,000 acres of difficult hill farming land in Scotland. Fortunately, he somehow found time to be Chair of the London Stock Exchange, a stockbroker for 30 years and on the board of HSBC.

I used my 4am awakening today to learn about Marilyn vos Verdant’s IQ, @edconway.bsky.social ‘s Material World book and also discover that my shock at hearing Naomi Klein say “off of” yesterday was in fact unnecessary as apparently it’s arguably grammatically correct. Time well spent!

40 years ago today it was Friday, it was five to five and it was Crackerjack. Keith Harris & Orville. Plus The Kane Gang. Keith H the only man I ever saw arrive in leather pants and change into something less showbiz for the stage.

This was me last night. I might have had a couple of extra beers in celebration of The Kane Gang selling out the first gig in 40 years in a couple of hours.

I guess it’s only polite to start off with a hello Bluesky post to kick things off before cracking on with the vitriol and pig headed contrariness…..oh wait, that’s the other place isn’t it?
