If you’re able to mount a piece of wood thin enough from to back in the cabinet between the drawers, you could mount the slides on that. If not, you can get ones that have a 90° bend on the end that are one piece instead of a metal part that goes into a plastic part.

It depends on the type of sliders you get. If you had room to mount some wood slats in the cabinet (or room for a small length of 2x4), you could get brackets that install alongside the drawers and aren’t dependent on a separate bracket piece to mount. They’d be much sturdier in the long run.

Part of the problem might be that the brackets are stapled in. If it was me, I’d probably just replace the whole thing with metal brackets. You’d have to replace the hardware on the drawers themselves, but it would be less hassle in the future. Barring that, do you have access to the drawers from

If you had a picture of the bracket, that would help. If you don’t have a jig, I’d check the screw holes on the bracket and see if they have wiggle room, such as an oval slot instead of a circular one. Then, measure where the other bracket sits in the cabinet and draw a line level with that on the
