Major life update: this past week I was in Gouda, NL for the first cheese market of 2025 and came in second place in the guess-the-weight-of-the-cheese-wheels competition. This is probably my greatest cheese-related accomplishment.

minimum wage increases raise the employment rates of older workers the labor supply of low-wage, retirement-age workers is particularly sensitive to labor market conditions: a 10% increase in minimum wages reduces retirement benefit claiming by the same amount as a 1pp drop in the unemployment rate
