the thing about Kavanaugh's fantasy-land depiction of immigration stops is that people of color have to live in the real world a new ruling (by a Trump judge in Alabama, no less!) shows that federal judges can engage with that reality, rather than Kav's fiction ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

There have been lots of malevolent Supreme Court justices, but there's not really a precedent for a Supreme Court justice who is as *dumb* as Brett Kavanaugh. A complete rube. Shows his ass every time he tries to write down more than two sentences of original thought.

I just listened to Mary Louise Kelly on NPR interviewing the State Department's spokesman, and the gist of the interview was: "Trump has made some statements and claims that seem questionable; would you like to take this opportunity to defend and embellish those statements?" Absolutely useless.

Darkly funny the Republicans have made acceding to whatever Trump wants their only core value and Trump rewards them by becoming indistinguishable from parody. It's an Andy Kaufman bit only with disastrous worldwide consequences.
