Mario Museum @mario.museum · 10/09/2026Hey Christa, that's my site! If you're interested in getting some of these, also look for the Suntory Whiskey or Gin playing cards, they're basically the same thing and not mega hard to find on Japanese auction sites. Examples are on my site. 020
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 05/09/2026You just reminded me that I did similar. When Super Star Wars came out, I got the Master Cheat & Debug code from Electronic Gaming Monthly. Submitted it to Super Play and got the credit. Feels good to get that off my chest 😂 160
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 29/08/2026Some pics from the Gamescom 2026 retro area today and a standout performance by @davidwise.bsky.social and @jiggytones.bsky.social We had a lot of fun! 011
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 28/08/2026In Cologne for #gamescom2026 and wow, what a view from my hotel room. 020
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 27/08/2026Just passed by @ramen__kingdom in Amsterdam. Cool window display! 000
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 25/08/2026I’m in Amsterdam and a popular retro game shop has a battered Nintendo TV-Game 15 for 500euros (and another slightly better one behind the counter for 600euros) 😳 020
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 15/08/2026Hudson Soft released Mario Bros. Special for multiple Japanese systems in 1984. Pictured are 6 different cassette versions – and that’s not even all of them! I also have the NEC PC-8001 version, plus several releases on 2.8", 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks. That makes 14 copies in my collection so far! 010
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 10/08/2026I’ve never seen a Hudson Soft title like this one before and it's a great example of mid-1980s obscure Nintendo history. Featured on the disk are 3 games: Baseball Fanatic, Nintendo Golf and Punch Ball Mario Bros. #パンチボールマリオブラザーズ #マリオ #任天堂 3/3 010
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 10/08/2026Firstly, it’s on 5.25" disk and most games for this short-lived machine were on cassette. A separate disk drive was also needed which sold in low numbers. Secondly, this isn't a standard retail version but a plain cover compilation disk, probably released as a dealer demo. 2/3 120
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 10/08/2026There are rare Mario games and then there are seriously rare Mario games, like this one released on the Japan-exclusive NEC PC-8001mkIISR - just added to my collection. Punch Ball Mario Bros is an obscure game anyway, so what makes this version extra special? 1/3 140
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 09/08/2026A Sharp My Computer TV C1 19C-C1F (Basically a 19" CRT with integrated Famicom) just sold for ¥1.6M ($10,140US). First released in Oct 1983 for ¥145,000, the Famicom circuitry connects to the TV internally via RGB, rather than the ordinary composite-video, producing a noticeably cleaner image. 020
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 30/07/2026The site of Nintendo’s former Kanda Sudachō building has finally been cleared over a year since the demolition notice was posted. It was the home of HAL Laboratory amongst other Tokyo business operations before they moved to Kanda Square. Images: @takeMJtoyo @takashikiso @GameLabo_sansai 093
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 27/07/20263 different retail versions of Mario's Early Years CD-ROM Collection for PC/DOS, released in 1993 by Software Toolworks in the US. Of course, there are many other variants of these 'edutainment' titles, both compilations and individual games, including for the Super Nintendo. 021
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 22/07/2026Thanks for the support @timeextension.com! Drop by the @nvmuk.bsky.social now to see some of my heritage Nintendo items on public display, plus lots of other retrogaming good stuff! 030
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 19/07/2026Nintendo definitely had a vibe going in the 1950s with this design, mixing Art Deco type with the familiar gothic 'N'. 0112
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 19/07/2026I got 500 points here too. They must have jumped on this error very early. 020
Reposted by Mario MuseumAlex Kraus @alexfkraus.bsky.social · 19/07/2026TIL there's a misprint in the first pressing of Super Mario Bros. that erroneously says that each firework at the end of the level gives you an extra 5000 points. Photo by @smr_an_fami on Twitter 2174
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 18/07/2026Two Japanese soft vinyl figures ("sofubi") from my collection, both 40 years old. Mario on the left made by Bandai (バンダイ), Bowser made by Kawada (カワダ). 092

Mario Museum @mario.museum · 15/05/2026Evil Mario?! Or maybe he just has a touch of jaundice.😁 Either way, this Japanese Super Mario finger puppet from 1986 just sold for ¥70,888/approx 348GBP/446USD 130
Mario Museum @mario.museum · 12/05/2026I've just added the 5th (!) variant of Mario Teaches Typing to my collection. And that's not even including Mario Teaches Typing 2. Who knew there were so many! I have a soft spot for this title due to it being Charles Martinet's debut as Mario. 010
