Can anyone explain why, on tv detective type shows, the professional criminal investigators never seem to close their curtains? So that the unknown person hiding in the hedge outside can take photos of who is indoors and of what they are doing. Or use a weapon. Makes no sense. Except the script.

Whilst I think about it, another random object from my #MuseumOfFamilyStuff This smoking cap belonged to my Gt Gt Grandfather, passed on to me by his grandson. It is in wonderful condition, being around 150 years old. Inside you can tell it has been worn. Yes, I have tried it on ☺️ #genealogy

After a day of castles and then a day in Rocamadour, Facebook reminds me that OTD in 2019 it was a day at Saint-Émilion. Another stunning spot, another wonderful day.

And after Medieval Castles the day before, OTD 2019 was Rocamadour. From the bottom to the top, but not on our knees as pilgrims did it! What a wonderful place to visit.

Another example of pen-pushers coming up with red tape without understanding the real effects. We have known about this for some time. Theoretically it does not yet affect us but in practice it will start with local interpretation and what I am hearing is not good. As for Single Market ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t know about ‘never’, but yes. My life at work these days (I am knocking on the door of 70) is full of completing ridiculous, lengthy, red tape documents, forms, assessments (which must be passed) etc. Designed by pen-pushers without practical experience, so someone, somewhere can tick a box.
