Today was the second time I have been told by a doctor that I don’t look like someone who has scleroderma. I hope medical professionals start realizing that you can’t always tell someone has an illness just by looking at them.

We’re getting a house for my son and husband went over to let the electrician in. I went over to pick something up, and I smelled gas as soon as I walked in. I asked both husband and electrician if they smelled gas. Both said they smelled something but wasn’t sure what it was.

Ok Canadian friends: I have a geography question. I was taught that Canada has 13 provinces, but now I am learning that the three territories don’t count as provinces. Does that mean they don’t get parliamentary representation? I am very confused about what this means.

Honestly, Beshear just needs to start the process of replacing McConnell. Call their bluff. They certainly would be doing the same if it was a democrat gone AWOL.

This isn’t about fraud - it’s about cutting your healthcare so that Trump can afford the tax cuts he gave to billionaires. They’re cutting more money in healthcare than they’ve prosecuted for fraud. The math doesn’t add up. www.cbsnews.com/news/medicai...

Trump administration halts $1 billion in Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota as part of fraud crackdown

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his agency is pausing $867.5 million in Medicaid payments to California and $199 million to Minnesota.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) put out a little infographic for International Moon Day. It compares the diameter of Australia to the diameter of the Moon. This always throws me because in my mind, the Moon is actually bigger!

Infographic showing drawings of Australia and the Moon side by side. Their respective diameters are annotated (4000 km vs 3400km). The population of Australia is stated as 28M people while it is 0 people o the Moon.

I’m about ten minutes from Two Harbors MN, and the smoke has been so bad that they’ve been having to sound the fog horn. I would hate to be trying to pilot a boat in this mess.

Dear US politicians: Quit harassing Canadians about the wildfire smoke, which they really can’t control, and start doing something useful like get funding to track foodborne illness. Thanks.

I’m probably going to catch heat for this, but it seems to me like Jeff Goldblum plays the same character in every movie. Chevy Chase is the same. But I would really love to see a movie with the two of them.

So this really sucks. We bought a cabin several years ago in northern Minnesota. Part of the reason we loved it was because it was surrounded by these beautiful cedar trees. We have had two fires in the past two years that could have come into our area. We were actually in the evacuation zone

Seventeen years ago, I introduced my cats under the pseudonyms Microcat and Macrocat, and the terms stuck. Microcat is tunneling. Macrocat cannot tunnel.

A small tuxedo cat sits in a cat tunnel while a larger gray tabby cat stands next to the tunnel entrance.

"illegals get free health care" sounds like it has no basis in reality until you figure out that it has a kernel of truth - "the poor, citizen or not, are treated in ERs because hospitals can't just let them die but also can't pay" - and a dumb thought instantly becomes a morally grotesque position.

This really made me laugh this morning: if middle income people and poor people understood that they should just buy assets with high returns, they wouldn't be middle income or poor! Silly dumb dumbs. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/23/o...

Now, if you think of this, the reason there are not people in the street protesting it is because about half the country’s suffering under this, and half the country is benefiting from this. I always say that there’s a lot of folks who get very upset about people who have gotten wealthy and investors and all this kind of stuff. It’s really a knowledge gap more than anything else. The wealth inequality gap in America really just comes down to a knowledge gap.

What I mean by that is there’s about half of the country who understands if you hold cash, it loses value every single year. Instead, if you convert that cash into assets, whether it is stocks, real estate, or cryptocurrency or whatever, over time they will go up because the dollar is going down.
