Das Geheimdienstgesetz war eigentlich ein Geschenk an alle in DE, die für mehr Vorsicht in der Forschungskooperation mit China plädieren. Es verschriftlicht nur gängige Praxis - der chinesische Parteistaat braucht es nicht um Zusammenarbeit einzufordern. Aber in DE hilft der Bezug auf Paragraphen.

Not a lot of positives for me to take away from the Trump-Xi Summit (beyond the fact that there weren't any big disasters as far as I can tell; only small and mid-sized ones), but now I have hopes that the China discussion on Bluesky will improve the more Trump cozies up to China.

Lots of attention again on Chinese investment in the EU. I think most miss the most important observation. Chinese FDI in the EU is tiny, a fraction of what it was 10 years ago. But EU's trade deficit with China is ballooning, up another 30% this year. The implications should be obvious. 1/

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
